I’ve been having a terrible cough since before Thanksgiving. I’ve been through a couple rounds of antibiotics and steroids and nebulizer inhalers, but to no avail. Has anybody else had or have heard symptoms like this? TIA.

Whooping cough? It's called the 100 day cough for a reason. When's the last time you had your Tdap booster?

Either whooping cough or a bad upper respiratory infection. I had one like that a couple of years ago. It started in the early to middle part of November and after a couple of weeks I finally went to a doctor. Albuterol inhaler and some antibiotic pills. As well as some prescription cough syrup to use at night. It still lingered until almost Christmas. I felt fine other than the coughing. Never had a fever or chills. It would be really bad first thing when I woke up and the shower would loosen all the mucus. Then I would be fine until late afternoon and it would come back.

Robitussin DM
Best thing even over prescription cough meds.

Do you have or suspect reflux?

It's one of the top 3 reasons for a chronic cough.

I've had something for three weeks. The first week was really bad. The second week slightly better. Now just intermittent.

Reflux can cause a cough that lasts a long time.

Had a bad cough for 4-5 weeks from Nov-Dec back in 2019. Sucked. I couldn't sleep unless I was propped up on pillows. Good luck.

Had a nasty upper respiratory infection (we're thinking it might've been RSV) that I picked up from my dumbass Aunt that showed up sick as a dog at Thanksgiving. Was "sick" for a solid two weeks. The cough is still hanging around but thankfully just dry at this point.

Doing NeilMed rinses have been helpful. And staying hydrated.

My whole family has been dealing with it off and on since Thanksgiving.

I honestly don’t remember an illness like this lasting so long.
