I definitely have better workouts and a ton more energy when fasting.

I had to for a colonoscopy a couple years back so I guess once every 45 years.

I guess...I do carnivore and fast. I have good workouts, I worked all last week during the heat of the day putting up siding...then won 4 long, competitive evening tennis matches after working to win a tournament. People act like its impossible to function without carbs. Just not true at all. Mayyybe you wont get the steroid meathead bouncer look without carbs

I end up with a couple of 20s a month, just by happenstance. I'm thinking about bumping a 72-hour every month instead of trying to schedule extended ones. 72-hour, generally, doesn't require refeeding.

I find when I do 48 hour fast my joints feel amazing. I started doing 48 hour fasts in November (always did 24 hour fasts) and this was the first winter I wasn’t sick.

As always, everyone needs to find what works best for them. You seem to have found your groove.

I’ve been doing 22-24 hour a lot since the end of January, every few weeks I do 48 hours. I know that I feel better doing it and when I don’t I feel like crap. I’ve lost a ton of weight but quitting alcohol without a doubt made the biggest difference. Nothing against the shots or surgery but it can be done without either.

I tried it once and did 39hrs. Don't feel the benefits outweighed the suck. I did one workout after the 24hr mark and wasn't that bad. Was just back, bi, and abs however.

Fitness science-wise, you can certainly workout while in a fasted state, but you need to keep it light. If you start going intense, your body will burn through your glycogen stores and switch from burning fat to other available energy sources….the protein available in your muscle. This is assuming you want to keep your muscle gains.

Fasting is also not just about weight lose….you are giving your digestive system a break. You don’t really give that organ system any time off if you eating all the time. Sometimes it’s good to let it cleanse itself out. You body also starts looking elsewhere for the things it needs to carry out daily activities when you enter a fasted state, such as damaged cells. Think of it like your body starts eating fridge leftovers because there’s nothing else to eat in the house. This is part of where that cleanse feeling comes from.

I’ve been doing OMAD - one meal a day this week - and it’s going great.

Helps I have sedentary wfh position. I eat between 6 and 7 pm, sleep well. No issues so far. I’ve already dropped 4 legit pounds since Sunday lol.

Tons of inflammation has sloughed off.

Im sorry but this is just not true. This just isnt true. The body will utilize fat stores before resorting to inefficient gluconeogenesis for energy for exercise. The body absolutely needs glucose for the brain so this process is always active but fat gives the body plenty of energy for strenuous exercise.
