After researching thoroughly, it seems to me that diet sodas like Coke Zeros won’t directly put on weight, however, it can cause you to eat more.

My new plan, since I have a small soda addiction. Is to drink one can every night before I go to bed.

Will this work?

The main problem with diet/zero calorie drinks is that a lot of the sweeteners and other chemicals are supposedly pretty bad for things like your organs and teeth.

That said, I still drink them when I'm in the mood for a soda or some zero calorie Gatorade or something.

Carbonated drinks do cause bloating, so watch out for that if you're wanting to be an A E S T H E T I C beast. Also, every night before bed may not be a good idea if you're sensitive to caffeine. Even having a soda at lunch, the caffeine is still in your system and may cause sleeping issues.

If you’re like me and drank a ton of Coke, you will for sure see a difference switching to Coke Zero. In my opinion a Coke Zero **in a can** straight out of a cold fridge tastes almost like the real thing. After time you will adapt to it being just like a regular Coke.

As far as the fake sugar in them.. I have read how people gain weight off of them is that the aspartame tricks your brain into thinking your body is getting sugar. When your body doesn’t receive said sugar, your desire for sugar increases and people usually ball out.
You can control it though.

I drink 3-4 a day sometimes and I’m pretty low body fat. Obviously water is better but you don’t have to deprive yourself

I always read about the sweeteners tricking your brain and making your insulin spike but I still drank them when I did keto and had no problem getting into ketosis and losing weight. I got so tired of eating meat and cheese everyday, the sweet taste of a coke zero twice a day was the only thing that kept me going.

This thread is just filled with myths

1) in the studies they have not made people eat more

2) they are not bad for gut health unless you eat/drink a shite ton, same goes for teath.

3) insulin spikes are individual to different artificial sweeteners, but in general insulin spikes don't make you gain fat. It why when controlled for calories and protein keto is not better for body fat loss than iifym

OP enjoy your coke zero

Thank you. There is so much fearmongering and misinformation about for sodas and artificial sweeteners.

The artificial sweeteners aren't bad for your teeth but sodas in general are. Best to limit then even just for that reason.
