I like when he writes in “heavy” next to things. Now I know ok this is supposed to be hard.

If it’s 15+, I just assume it’s pump work and will use a lighter weight. Anything less and I just try to beat my previous weight record for that number of reps.

W2D3 done not bad except the 21’s.

Probably a dumb question but on the cardio, he has Bwn circled. What does that mean?

I think it's actually "burn" not "bwn"

I'm on week 4 of Grasshopper this week after a long layoff.

Next week GH shifts to 4 workouts/week, so I am going to join the Pool Party instead of continuing Grasshopper

W2D1 did barbell Bulgarians up to 135x5/leg to warm up legs before squatting. I failed on the second set of bench at 4 reps of 230; decided to burnout at 230, 225, 205, and 135 as a consolation. I have my TMs set too high for this program (using 1RMs lol) I think. I used the dip attachment instead of bench dips and got 21 on amrap; triceps are still sore.

Looking forward to deadlifting heavy tomorrow. This is a really fun program

Wow, W2D3 was an all-timer to me. Haven’t done that many heavy squat sets in ages. 8 sets of 2 was narly

I thought it was gonna be brutal, but I actually felt much better in the end. It also taught me the importance of focus and technique and bracing core as I got sloppy with a set around 4 or 5 and all the sudden got super shaky and almost had to dump it. I was able to get it up, reset for the second rep, and fired it up no problem, but it was definitely a wakeup call. Stayed tight on the remaining sets and was fine, even got an extra rep on the final set

How do y’all handle the last set? I always treat it as an AMRAP? I know some program recommend against going beyond the required reps, but I hate feeling like I left anything in the tank so I’ll get as many as possible (never more than 1 or maybe 2 more than prescribed). Is that what everyone else does?

Already dreading tomorrow’s workout lol. Hate high reps and supersets, FML

Day 3 done. Those 80% 2x8 we tough.

How did y’all do the rows? I went up each time on sets of 5 and then went down for the 10s.

I’ve got mine set for 60,65,70,75 then back to 60.

I would normally do 70 so we’ll see if that was a bit too light. I didn’t want to go to 80.

Planning to focus on really good form.

I did 4x5 at 70 each and then dropped down 50 for the set of 10, probably should’ve been 75 and 55

Do y’all typically ladder up when it’s something like 4x5 or stick with same weight entire time?

so last week i did 120 for each of the sets of 5 and dropped downt o 107.5 for the set of 10. prolly do the same or do 107.5 for sets of 5 and then 90 for sets of 10 and really really really concentrate on form.

I usually start with the weight I did the last time and try to go up. If the weight is real heavy, I’ll make a note so I’ll know for the next week.

I only have 70lb powerblocks so I did BB rows for the last 2 sets of 5 so I could go heavy
