I’m speaking more so to the guy who wants to leave his bag and shite

Even before 5AM, I get this guy every morning when school is out. He puts his bag full of knee wraps and all that shite on the only squat box in the entire gym. I don't care if he's ten feet away, put your shite on the floor, in the locker, or leave it in your car and bring in what you need each day, like I do.

Had a guy yesterday who was doing some work with dumbbells. He had two sets of dumbbells on a flat bench. Wasn't using the flat bench, just setting the weights there for him to grab when he would do his standing exercise. I needed the bench, so I walked up and asked if he was using it. He said no, so I asked respectfully "then can you move the dumbbells so I can use it?" He just looked at me puzzled, then proceeded to remove the dumbbells from the bench. That shite annoys me too. The bench isn't for setting your dumbbells on, its to be used during an exercise. Either use the bench or get the frick out of the way.

I don’t really have a ton of pet peeves. Most of what I have is shite that annoys me. People that grunt. I can understand if you are maxing out or getting a PR lift but otherwise that is annoying. Anybody that uses a rack to do anything other than lift some heavy stuff like squats or deads. I can give a hall pass to benching in one if all the benches are busy but doing curls or anything else and you need to have an arse kicking. The person that uses 3 different things at one time and then complaining if somebody jumps into your little rotation. Luckily we don’t have very many of the just drop a workout bag wherever you want on the gym floor people at my gym. Those people annoy me.

There is a whole separate list for BJJ schools but hygiene is very important and should be implemented at any type of gym.

Id love to know what is dumb about tri-sets amd supersets. I didnt even mention specifics or what the person is training for. Apparently you just think any kind of efficient training is dumb. Newsflash, every high level collegiate strength program uses them

Possibly nothing

A triset maybe. Unless youre a competitive lifter

They also used periodized strength training as they’re completely different and both have a purpose.

Every time you post something you get dumber. Not good!

That was gibberish. You literally just said a lot of nothing. Periodized training or not, competitive lifter or not, tri-sets are a tool to be used in the gym.

If you are a olympic lifter or powerlifter sure you may have days with no multi-sets.

If you are the average joe gym goer(everyone in this thread), youll definitely have days where you can effectively throw in a tri-set.

You still havent specifically identified what I said that is dumb and why. You highlighted my caveat for "unless youre a competitive lifter" with no explanation.

Do you not realize your posts are still in the thread? Damn, you are on dumb mother fricker

What would you suggest they do during a 3-4 minute break? Stare vacantly into space?

A triset maybe. Unless youre a competitive lifter, I see no reason why anyone should just stand around during rest period

There’s lots of reasons for that… moron

You just made this up, you have no idea if it’s true

Sure, there still may be a point for resting for 3 minutes other days or other times during your session. Something you said there “is no reason for”

I have like 3 times, your inability to understand it is understanding is unsurprising

lol semantics is your reason for getting butthurt. The audience for that post is the average joe gym goer. My point still stands though. I never once let my track athletes "stand around". You can be spotting someone, cleaning up weights, setting up next lift. Even when I worked at Bama, TCU football doing close to max effort lifts...zero standing around.

Im done talking to you dude. Youll move the goalposts and stay bitter/angry. I disagree with stuff said here all the time. I dont just lob vague insults. If I say anything at all, itll just be a rebuttle...not "youre dumb"

Because you have no where else to move the goalposts

Is using a rack for standing shoulder press and bent over rows acceptable? I do it all the time. My gym has 5 racks though and they are almost never all full.

Yep, those are ok exercises in a rack, especially if it’s not busy. Might become questionable if the other 4 were taken. I look at the rack like this, if you really can’t do the exercise without it, you should have the rack no questions asked. You aren’t doing heavy squats without it and you would need a wheelbarrow to move plates for deads. Not really practical. Other things like presses and rows could be done out of it but probably makes more sense if it isn’t busy to just use the rack, but yield the ROW to someone doing squats obviously.
