What are the implications of eating vegetable oil on the diet even though it's not considered a paleo friendly oil?

I started paleo recently and it's actually pretty easy to follow. I noticed the cashews I eat are cooked in vegetable oil and am wondering how much it's affecting the diet, if at all.

I'm doing the diet to lose weight and reduce inflammation.

What are yall's thoughts on the overall diet? I love it so far.

I avoid vegetable oil personally. I’m not strict about my dieting but try to stick to a Whole Foods lifestyle.

I Just finished reading “eat like a human.” And it was really enlightening. Didn’t try to sway you this way or that way just tried to help you make better decisions with eating more nutritional food.

I say that to say, vegetable oil is not good for you.

Get dry roasted cashews instead of the ones swimming in oil. They are already full of good fat.

Highly recommend against doing a 'diet' to 'lose weight'.

Will you stick to a Paleo LIFESTYLE for longer than 3-6 months? That is something you need to think about and answer honestly. A 'diet' is temporary - a lifestyle is not.

That’s nothing, as long as your omega 6 vs 3 ratio is OK. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Paleo aside, vegetable oil is terrible for you and terrible in general s Why do paleo if you are going to have vegetable oil ? If your goal is reduce inflammation, you’re hurting yourself. Not to be a dick. But to answer your question you are undermining the point of the paleo approach.

Not a dick, I appreciate the input.

I only eat it when I'm eating cashews. It's hard to find nuts in the grocery store that aren't cooked with it.

it’s not like you’re cooking the majority of your proteins in it or anything so not the end of the world but I would try and eliminate it altogether. You are on to something though, toasted/roasted cashews are incredible.

I mean, if it’s just cashews, then it’s probably not a big deal.

But after watching this video about vegetable oils, I try to avoid them as much as possible.
