I rowed a half marathon, I believe it took me about 1 hr and 27 min. And I didn't stop once. Never will I do that bullshite again.
HOLY shite!!! I could never do that. 5k is the longest I have ever done and that was enough to make me feel like death.

A 6:30 2k and lower is fantastic. The average for the world on the concept2 site, for my age group (19-29) is 7:24
I am below 7:24 but not by as much as I thought. My problem is my form gets really loose if I am not balls to the wall on it.

The crossfit place I go to has rowing classes 4 days a week, and I usually go to 2-3 per. Then i use the gym at school on Sundays sometimes for sets of 500m or 250m.
Most of the row classes end up being around 4k-5k. It varies from day to day. Some examples:
Partner row
12 rounds (each partner does 6, so 3600m each total)
partner 1: 600m row (keep below 2k+2 pace)
Partner 2: 20 lunges
switch
each round you do should be a negative split. So if I started with 600m at a pace of 1:45 per 500m, my next would need to be 1:44.9 or lower, and so forth.
Sometimes its calories row, like:
partner 1: 36 calories
partner 2: 18 calories
P1: 12
P2: 36
P1: 18
P2: 12
x3
Hard to beat rowing. I think it's the best workout there is, considering it works basically everything on you. And it's the only thing in crossfit that I am actually really good at, outside of stuff like clean and jerks![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

quote:Then what is the reasoning behind your main goal wanting to be strong? What does being strong get you? Are you competing in something? I'm just curious what I may not be thinking about. For me, physique is the only purpose of working out if you aren't doing any type of competition
I'm 38 lol

Because strength and agility are the way to stay and feel young.
But you can do both at the same time. They are not exclusive but for many that are married they prefer just to get strong as shite.

I lift for the challenge. To push myself. I also like feeling strong in daily life. And work and personal problems seem "lighter" when lifting heavy (for me).

I want to lose 20-25 lbs.
The same medical condition I have that impacts my fertility (PCOS) also is well known to make women have an even more difficult time losing weight, especially as they get older. It's fricking frustrating. I can work out 6 days a week and stay at 1200 calories a day(I'm 5'9)...and in 2 weeks time maybe lose a pound. My hormones basically work against me.

I have tendinitis in my shoulder, so I've given up on strength goals.
I guess my goals right now are:
- Shed 25 pounds (currently 175 and want to be 150)
- Be able to do all and hold all yoga poses in my yoga class without the use of blocks or modifications
- Improve my running from 2 miles/run to 4-5 miles/run
- Continue doing squats and shoulder mobility exercises in the gym on a regular basis

I'm about to do a 1600 cal diet.
Macros:
Fat-40%
Protein-50%
Carbs-10%
It's going to suck for a while but I need to get back the 180's.

Short term: Complete a 5k
Long term: Complete the Louisville Triple Crown (Anthem 5k, Rodes City Run 10k, Papa Johns 10 Miler)
Obviously there's the potential weight loss that comes with training for all of that. Mostly for me it's just getting healthy again in general. I've been slacking something awful and hate the lack of energy. I've also found I do a better job sticking with when I'm doing something like training for X.
