I had similar symptoms to OP. Low libido, ED, felt bloated, nips were getting swollen...that's what prompted the early blood work. The blood work confirmed that the estrogen had doubled. Sorry for confusion.

I got one of those. I'm cool with only needing a release 4 or 5x a week. There was a period 6 weeks in where I'm pretty sure I logged 30x for the week

I just did an InBody scan today to confirm the numbers I had two weeks ago. Identical

201 lbs
13.4% bf

BMI is 28-29.

Interesting stuff regarding Anastrazole here. I started taking it primarily due to nips getting sensitive/knotty. I’m not overweight at all (weigh 152 @ ~8% bf, VO2 Max ~60) and in very good shape. My biggest fear is Gyno, but second guessing the AI now. I go shirtless often and if I catch Gyno my world will be crushed, lmao.

My Estrogen went from <5 to 30 within first few months on TRT, combined with the nip issues and I kinda panicked ngl.

Tamoxifen is preferred for treating gyno. So you may want to have that on hand if you’re nervous.

Thats still normal range, right? I’m still trying to learn this stuff, but from what I’m reading, it says to pretty much avoid AI until symptomatic? Maybe some of the vets can chime in.

Yeah still normal range as of now. I may drop the AI.

Hematocrit was 50 so they want me to donate. I get 150g protein/day on average and drink about 3 cups of coffee but I'm falling short of 100oz water/day. They told me to hydrate more and that could help.

Tell them they’re fricking retarded. 50 is literally within normal limits for a hct. It’ll just rebound even higher after dumping.

Gameday is telling you this? That’s very discouraging in terms of their competence.

Ask them why you should dump blood with a WNL hct. It will always be on the high end, perfectly okay. TRT causes increased production of erythropoietin.

Agree, most lab references ranges go up to 52% for Hematocrit for the high end of normal.

I guess they're thinking that once I'm injecting regularly (just got my first one last week) that it'll go beyond the 51 number (which is where their normal range stops).

My thing is, if hydration causes it to elevate, then wouldn't that be a legitimate reason for the number being 50 since I only had about 1/2 a bottle of water to drink between 10pm the night before and 10am when they did the labs?

Correct

They took this lab on my first visit, prior to starting TRT

No no no. Hydration will cause it to decrease. Hydration is key. That and added cardio will help keep it in check.

So you were essentially dehydrated causing it to result even higher. Always try to drink at least 40oz of water prior to drawing labs do you’re properly hydrated.

So they want you to dump blood before even initiating TRT? Lord. All I can say is do lots of reading and research for your own sake. Very rarely do people on actual TRT doses need to dump blood. It’s 10000% fine to live with a higher Hct, people in higher altitudes have been doing it for centuries without spontaneously stroking out.

What you're saying makes sense. That's why I'm thinking it's possible my 50 number was that high because I didn't drink properly. They didn't suggest to eat/drink before the labs and just told me to 'fast'.

Right. They probably assume since I'm at 50 (didn't ask if I was hydrated or not), that TRT would take me higher and they don't want that.

Yeah I've been reading a lot for a month now and that's how I knew my regular doctor didn't know anything about testosterone treatment. He wanted me on an injection every five weeks. Just from what I read at that time, I knew that was a huge red flag.

At least Gameday wanted me on weekly injections or every four days.

Its fine to have water before fasted labs. You’re not NPO, just fasting for more accurate labs such as a lipid panel. Test levels and a CBC will not be affected by food.

I spoke to the clinic just now and they essentially said what I was suspecting....they want me lower than 50 so that when I start injections regularly next week that it doesn't climb higher than 56 on my next lab in early October.

They want me to donate and drink a lot more water daily.
