Went for a while without using protein, was getting my protein fill from solid food, but recently a change in my schedule makes that difficult. I had some protein that expired about two years ago. It was sealed and never opened this entire time until today. Looked good, smelled good, and tastes fine. I know that protein can break down over time, so am I wasting my time drinking this? I’ll stop being a cheap arse and buy some eventually, was just curious for the time being if anyone can put in their .02.

Go back to eating Whole Foods for your protein source. Eating some sardines, tuna, eggs, etc isn’t hard if you preplan it.

it's insane how much protein is in most of the foods i love and eat regularly. I don't limit protein as much as most people who have endogenous beta-hydroxybuterate as a goal (I'm trying to avoid buzzwords, using longer buzzwords), but I do try to regulate it.

e.g., i love Fage 5% plain greek yogurt. it has 9g of protein per only 100g (7oz).

Eta: bone broth is crazy high too.

Of course the circa 20oz ribeye I eat at least twice a week has some 150g of protein....

Are you capable of just answering a question? Every post on this board you go off on a tangent and don't answer what was asked.

Yeah everything seems normal, but I’m just worried that the protein has degraded to the point where I’m basically drinking thick water.

As stated before the best way to get protein in, is by consuming actual foods, but my last resort to get more protein in is by protein powder.

Well yea but that’s not what the OP is asking

Protein is to be used a supplementation

But using expired powder isn’t the end of the world
