I've always had issues with executing intense exercises when on the keto diet or the carnivore diet. Is there a point when my body will get used to it or will I always have to supplement with carbs?

All of the research I've done says burning fat while in ketogenesis is the "cleaner" way to fuel yourself. However I do my best intense workouts after I've loaded up on carbs.

I've found it takes 2/3weeks to really be able to push through on a hard work out.

My body does exceptionally well on low carb/keto. Not everyone is the same.

I've experienced the same thing.

Which is why I never stick with keto or carnivore very long.

Maybe at some point we would acclimate, but I just don't like feeling tired, so I always add carbs back.

I'm about 3 weeks into ket/exercise. I haven't had this problem but from day 1 I started going to bed much earlier.

doesn't matter what 'diet' you are on. You just need to be able to have intensity for 30 minutes to an hour a day for exercise. Use a clean pre workout if you need it. drink coffee. There are plenty of ways to be able to get up for a workout for 30 mins to an hour regardless of what diet you are on.

Dr Joe Mercola , who has a big interest in exercise physiology has changed his recommendation on keto . He says only do the diet for say 3 months or so , then add back carbs .He now eats potatoes or rice or fruit for carbs . My husband and I tried keto . I became extremely fatigued in the afternoon . I had made myself nutritionally hypothyroid . In order to make the active form of thyroid hormone , you need glycogen in the liver , which you get from carbs . My thyroid function normallized when I added back good carbs . My husband got uric acid kidney stones and constipated on the keto diet . So , only do keto for brief periods of time .

That’s nonsense. You can do keto, carnivore, Animal Based, or any elimination diet for as long as you want. The issue is people ‘think’ they are doing keto or carnivore etc but really aren’t because they cheat or don’t have enough willpower and constantly slip up or they aren’t getting enough fats for energy. Yes, everyone is different so choosing between one of those 3 you will find one that works and you can run it for infinity.
