I dontt think anyone is saying being skinny is the way to go. On the contrary... I said earlier build and maintain as much lean muscle mass as you can as long as you can. Most people vastly underestimate how fat they are.

Make sure you actually weigh foods and not “eyeball” them.
Typically it would be best to diet down first to see what your frame looks like without fat, then add muscle

what is the value of this?

because when you are lean and in a caloric surplus and lifting, the body tends to put better muscle to fat ratio on. opposite if bf% is high.

Can't see shite on that graph, but what little I can see, it looks like Halloween - New Years did a number on you. Many such cases!

For one, in order to gain muscle you need to eat in a caloric surplus. The scale won’t go down if you are eating in a surplus so it makes it easy to get discouraged when the scale never moves. Additionally after you cut down, you can add those calories in to build muscle and not have to worry about gaining too much weight back due to an increased metabolism (reverse dieting)
Depending on what your goals are, it would be good to see what you look like lean so you know what body parts may need more attention to bring up.

quote:Top of the graph to the bottom of the graph is about 8lbs. I had a throat issue in September/October which caused me to eat very little and the weight was coming off. Got that fixed and started eating again so it came back up. But yea Christmas didn't treat me great, but I'm fighting it ever day.

Top of the graph to the bottom of the graph is about 8lbs.
Still seems that you were trending down until the candy crush of Halloween.
