Because of this thread I decided to try Creatine out. I've always known of it's existence since the 90's but I've never looked into it or really understood what it was. Not a weight lifter but I am a cyclist. I was most interested in the effects on the brain. Local Wal Mart was all sold out. Stopped at Academy and picked up a 1st Phorm microionized creatine monohydrate for $35 for 100 servings. Seemed price compared to online but I wanted the instant gratification. And I am leaving town today so I wouldn't be able to get it until Sunday if I waited.

I put mine in a small glass slightly larger than a shot glass, then drink it down with water. Refill the glass and drink down the gritty dregs that remain.

I usually have a cup of green tea or black tea after dinner. In one of those shorter Yeti cups, the 10 oz rambler. I don't bother with dirtying another cup, and that is what I mix my creatine and preworkout in once the tea is gone. About 6 oz or less is all it takes to dissolve it. Chug that in two gulps and give it another splash and swirl it around to get any of the gritty dregs down as well.

I take HCL. I get less water retention on HCL than creatine monohydrate.

The strength on both is the same. All I take is HCL now

For me the solubility alone is worth it for HCL.

I don’t get all of the comments about creatine not dissolving. 5 grams is a little more than a thimble full of powder. Throw it in water, swish it around and slam it.

All creatine isn’t created equal. I’ve bought brands that were like sand and some that were like powder etc.

As mentioned some is more powdery and some is more sandy. I couldn't get off the toilet when I first started taking it. Started using hot water to dissolve it better and never had stomach problems again

Have you guys had any security trouble flying with creatine in your carryon? Is it best to bring the whole tub or can I put a weeks worth in a ziplock.

I've done ziplocks before (even internationally). Haven't had a problem.

I grabbed the cheap Six Star pill form creatine to take when I went to Europe this past summer. No problems at all with it in checked bags.
