If so what are your experiences and do you like it?

My membership expires next month and I’m thinking about joining there. I currently use anytime but I’m getting tired of it being “overcrowded” when 5-7 people are in there. I do a good bit of traveling so I’d like a gym that I can use in multiple states

I live in Baltimore and the ones around here suck.

No squat/power racks and no benches and the dumbbells don't go very high, but they do have a couple benches and and and OHP rack. Of course they have several smith machines.

They are always overcrowded (especially this time of year), and it feels like 75% of the space is taken up with treadmills and elipticals

I'd never get a membership there, but it might vary across other states, not sure.

The LA fitness on Siegen has benches, squat racks and dumbbells up to 110 I believe. All of the cardio equipment is in the second level.

If you have BlueCross insurance check out health ways. You can join multiple gyms in their network for $27.50 a month, no contracts and no annual fees. LA Fitness is in that network.

I had good experiences at Perkins/Siegen when I was a member. However, trying to cancel is an act of congress. I cancelled my membership in May of 2017 and they still try to bill me every single month. I've gone in and talked to the local staff, I've called the corporate headquarters, emailed customer service and bitched out anyone who has ever tried to call me asking why my credit card was declined, and after all of this they still continue to try to bill me every single month.

So no, I'm not a fan

I used to be a member in another state. Personally, I loved it. Solid all around. Plenty of gym equipment. Not planet fitness-like about real lifting. Not douche central, good cardio equipment, and most have a sauna and pool. Plenty of gym girls, and very reasonably priced.

They just opened one around where I live in Houston (yale st)

I just signed up for a trial. Seems like a decent place. I went around 5pm though and it was slammed. I figured combination of early January along with being a gym only 15 days old so lots of trial members as well.

I may join and start going there in the early AM.

I don’t know what your travel looks like but there are far less LA fitnesses than there are Anytimes. I’d wager LA is a better gym but anytime is everywhere.

While might experience in lack of selection and room, it makes up for in convenience. Just my opinion.

When i lived in Atlanta (Buckhead) I was a member of LA fitness. They had 3 huge locations within a 2 mile radius of my house and they were full of babes . And there were lots of guys there that actually cared about lifting heavy and hitting deadlifts, squats, etc so you always had a spot when you needed it. Hard to beat for $20 a month. Don’t know about other cities though.

This is what I planned to do. The one I would joing opens at 5 am. I’d workout from 5-6:30 every morning.

And to the other poster, yeah most places I travel to have them. I don’t mind using a hotel gym for a day or two in the occasions that a location I’m in doesn't Have one
