I don’t really think it’s that big of a deal but thought I’d ask anyway

Could there be any negative effects of regripping after every rep? I don’t ever plan to compete. Also, I don’t really deadlift for over 5 reps. Am I missing out?

Not missing out. Doesn't really matter if you regrip.

What's your line of thinking with these questions?

I was watching videos on deadlifts and squats thinking about my form. The guy mentioned not to touch and go. I don’t regrip after every single rep. Maybe every other rep. I wondered if maybe this points to a weak grip. I’m not doing that much weight to talk about.

Pretty much this

The last part is very true. I do both depending on what I'm trying to accomplish

Well resetting your grip will train it less. However, fast reps usually need to be regripped unless you are using straps.

Do you use chalk?

I’m not a big fan of touch and go. I know some guys like to do it, but I prefer to take my time. I’m not trying to use deads as a conditioning tool.

It's good for keeping all muscles tight.

Agreed. If I'm looking for higher reps or more tension, I'll just do RDLs. In fact, I really only do singles on deads, get my volume in RDLs.

I dont regrip every rep but I do reset every rep. I also never do more than 5 rep sets on deads or squats because I feel like I lose focus on higher reps and my form gets sloppy.
