Fun EMOM yesterday:
30 min EMOM
min 1- 3 Hang Cleans (95/65)(115/75RX+) + 3 STOH (95/65)(115/75RX+)
min 2- 30 sec max Burpees
min 3- Rest

Score is total number of Burpees

My rounds were a mixture of 11s and 13s. Got 120 total. Probaby the best in relation to the field I have ever done in a wod. It's really hard to do more than 13 burpees in 30 seconds.

Yesterday

Partner WOD

50-40-30-20-10
Row Cals
Hanging power cleans
Jerks

Every 2:00 both partners had to do 6 burpees (84 burpees if you take up the full cap)
30:00 cap

I had nightmares last night of the coach yelling, "2 minutes - 6 burpees"

Workout of the Day
3 Sets:

12 Alternating DB Upright row
For Time:
21 Jerks (165/115)
15 Push Press (135/95)

I did 30lb DBs on A and 115/95/75 on B. 4:52 was my time. Jerks were easy but push press & clean press got difficult

I Rx’d it and hit the wall after 2 strict press at 115.

Jumped on a barbell with 95 and knocked the rest out quickly. 7 and change.

Today is Murph prep..

A) 15 mins of running
B) Cindy.. 20 min AMRAP, 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups. 15 squats

Shooting for 18-20 rounds today.

Ran 5 laps. Need to get more running in for sure, my capacity with my lungs is shot from 2 weeks of no gym + an upper respiratory infection. My legs weren't really tired and my breath was under control but I kept getting a [link=(side stitch)]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Side_stitch[/link].. something that occurs frequently when my endurance is shot.

12 + 9 on Cindy. I scaled to knee pushups and jumping pull ups.

I kept a pretty steady pace without redlining, imitating how I'll do Murph. As usual, the pushups slow me down the most once tired.

Not even close to my 18-20.

Right shoulder was bothering me during the push-ups and I was slower there. My pull-ups were fine and I blew through the squats, but I started slowing on push-ups after 7-8 rounds.

A) Bunch is warmup shite

B) 12 min to achieve a heavy front squat rep, Rest 5 min, 1 set of max reps at 75% of your heaviest rep.

A) Did it.

B) 275 and only 8 reps at 205.

Left knee was telling me to shut it down on the AMRAP at 8 so I did.

GCF will stay open as long as the state doesn’t force them to close.

Today:

A) Every 90 secs x8 1.1.1 Squat Cleans (Climbing)
B) 12 min AMRAP: Max Wall balls 20/14. Every time you break, run a lap. (About 340 M)

A) Finished at 185
B) 105 Rx

My kid is running fever and several kids from his daycare class are sick so I'm staying away from the gym. The others have HFM but still.

Gonna lace up and do the home WODs they're offering to members who are staying home.

Sucks, I'd have enjoyed that WOD

..and now they are forced to close.

Most classes are less than 20, so at any given time, with people coming and going, there may be 40 in there together.

I’ll still try to go at noon if someone is there, but chances are slim. Looks like a 4 week strength cycle at the house.

I think I have a ball and a kettle bell in the house somewhere. I do not have any way to do pull ups. May make up some kind of ball/bell/DU workout for the driveway, then do some miles on the bike.

Whelp, our owners decided to close for good. Not fired up about the other options in this town.

shite closing for good already? That suuucks.
It seems like Geaux is getting a lot of member support and people keeping their memberships active. I hope that enough do go keep them afloat. They have a very large and very nice facility that I'm sure comes with a hefty note and bills.

Yeah. It was probably coming anyway. This deal just pushed up.

Do you think it's feasible for the membership to buy it and run it like a country club? No expectation of profit - just keep it running?

Depends on rules of CrossFit franchising. My guess: probably not. That said, you could forego the CrossFit franchise, buy it, rename it to something else, and just find various WODs online to copy/paste. Seems like a liability though, you'd want to have a qualified coach or two on board.
