Tomorrow's WOD looks fun. I'm looking forward to it.
Workout of the Day
A.) Front Squat Heavy Single
B.) 4 Sets:
3 Hang Squat Clean (185/130)
10 Calorie Sprint
Rest 3 minutes
This was fun and challenging. Got 225 on the 1RM FS and did 135lb hang squat cleans, finished the workout at 11:53. I need to remember to pull with my elbows after my shrug; when coach cued me on it 135 didnt feel challenging enough, but before it was pointed out to me, 135 was feeling difficult.

Did the same workout as hulk..
FS: 285
Workout: 11:45 with 155lb hang Squat cleans.
Probably should have done 175 or the Rx weight of 185 but I’m not pushing it after this pinched nerve issue that lasted 8+ weeks.

Workout of the Day
A. ) 3 Sets:
8-10 Seated DB Press (3131) or Strict HSPU
20 Renegade Row
B.) 8 Rounds:
25 Push Ups
Run 1 Lap
As a fat man, renegade rows blow. I can barely hold my weight up on one arm in a plank position.
I finished at 22:47

Workout of the Day
1 Rep Max Deadlift
Saw this and said AAWWW YEEAAA! I was pumped to get in the gym today. Worked up to 335.. 20lb under a pr but I'm 30lb lighter than during the pr so I'm okay with it.

Today’s 18min partner AMRAP sucked.
Murph on Monday with a vest is gonna be terrible.

Have not done Murph with a vest, nor straight through. Have always partitioned with 20 rounds of 5/10/15. Going to do it straight thru and with a vest Monday. Pull-ups will be a challenge
Posted on 5/25/19 at 8:53 am to LSUAlum2001
Yeah no way I was doing that when I'm planning a full Murph. I'm getting some light cardio in and stretching all weekend to make sure in recovered for it. My left shoulder has been really tight since our last WOD with tons of pushups.

Best thing is to do is chipping away at pull-ups. If you have to do singles from the beginning, do it.
1-1-1-1-1 pull-ups
5-5 push-ups
15 squats
Repeat as long as possible.

I'll be doing jumping pullups so I'm not super concerned about that. It's the pushup volume that'll get me.
My scheme is going to look like:
5 pushups
5 pullups
5 pushups
15 squats (broken into 3 quick sets of 5)
It's complicated but my chest and shoulders just can't take that pushups volume. I'll hit failure in no time. And if my left shoulder starts getting pissed off I'll switch to situps.
I really want a full Murph but I'm not sure my body's ready. I'll just have to keep cranking away slowly and if I feel like im injured, scale away or just stop and remember that next year I'll be in even better shape.

I’ll know if my pinched nerve will be limiting me on push-ups in the first 50.
Sets of 10 should be easy for me and doable for all 200 reps. If I’m struggling early, it’ll be a long day.
I’m going to start 10-20-30 and try to hang onto that for as long as possible.
10 full rounds? No idea, but I hope to get through 5 of that scheme before changing it up.

Did Murf as written today with no vest.
Breaking it up seems like cheating to me and kind of takes away from the whole point of the workout.
Takes me almost an hour, but worth it.

People break it up to avoid injury. Most people should not do Murph straight through, imo. If you're in great shape then do whatever you want.

Completed my first Murph today. 1:03. No vest but did it straight through. The 200 push ups killed me. Tried to do sets of 10. Barely got through 100. Almost went to girl push ups, but didn’t. Last 100 were in sets of 5 or less. It was awful. Pretty sure I shed a tear or two.
Did squats in sets of 100 though and ran 8 minute miles. Everything was fine except the GD push ups.
Really, really wanted less than 1 hour.
