I didn’t wear shoes until I was about 12. Unless I were at school or church. My feet were an extra pair of hands.

Really? 5000 Miles or 24 Month Warranty

I’ve had my Vivo’s about as long as my Xero HFS’s. The Vivo’s are wearing much faster. Now, my Vivo trail shoes are built like a tank.

Put in 3 recovery miles in my Xero huaraches today. I only use them on recovery day or days where it’s raining. Yes, I get a lot of looks running in these.

Prios lasted about 4 months, 25-45 miles a week.

To be honest, I never tried the warranty, because I didn't want a second pair. They were dead by 1.5 months. And I have been running in minimal shoes for over 10 years now. Merrells and Vivos hold up much better, but as I mentioned, Merrell quality is way down lately.

Thanks to this thread, I ordered some Xeros!

Well, they arrived. I'm pretty disappointed at how utterly dorky they look with that bulgy and flat front part. I don't think I'm gonna wear them much - at least not for anything other than working out.

Why the hell did Brooks move away from the sleeker designs like this: Pure Connect 4 black Zero drop and very minimalist. Super light weight without the stupid mushroom on the front.

Yeah.... The minimalist shoes look like clown shoes for the most part. But that is the trade off for a natural foot fit. If you were looking for something minimal without it looking to clown short, look at inov8 barefoot xf. The toe box isn't as wide.

Which ones did you get and didn't they have a picture of them on the website? They wide toe box is what really makes them minimalist shoes, well, along with 0 drop.

You might like them more than you think once you start wearing them. I wear mine almost every day and every where I go. I have a pair of Hanas, Prios, and Aptos. I am going to order the Glenns when they are back in stock.

I had the old vaporglove 5's for my first minimalist shoes. I started out only wearing them to workout in but they grew on me where I started wearing them everywhere.

I thought I had the plantar fasciitis in the right foot last year, but I worked out of it somehow. Now the left is worse. I went to Kinvara's as my every day shoes, only a 4mm drop vs. 8's I had been using by wearing the old Speed's as the daily. I think my feet must be figuring it out. I really don't wear shoes a lot though, outside of running. Maybe it's the flip flops that are my problem, but it hurts more after sitting or sleeping, not walking.

I wear Xero’s or Vivo’s daily. Toe box is bigger, but it’s supposed to be. ‘Style’ shoes are what are killing American’s feet. Remember that.

Brooks used to have their Pure Flow line of somewhat minimal footwear. They, like every other major running brand, have gone away from minimal.

I've heard going minimalist should be done gradually.

For those that have done it how would you recommend going about the change? Cold turkey, so many hours per day, etc?

I started by just working out in them and going on slow walks. Then I started incorporating them a little more every couple weeks.

I love my Xero Genesis sandals, those are my most worn as of now. My only real complaint is traction with wet surfaces, will probably try the Aqua Cloud version soon to see if that helps.

I also have a pair of the Xero Prio Neos, liking those a lot for regular wear when I need something closed toe/dressier.

Had bought a pair of Whitin’s from Amazon but wore a hole in the mid foot of the soles within 4 months (was wearing them daily, ~20k steps). I suppose for casual wear they would last longer, they aren’t that bad looking for a more social outing setting.

Used to run in Brooks, I am never going back to regular shoes.

Wore regular shoes today and could not wait to take them off. Played Pickleball for an hour and half in my Xero Prios and my feet feel rejuvenated.

This is a good plan. My Achilles was tight and my feet were weak. It took a long time and a lot of foot exercises to get where I am now. This is why most people don’t do minimal footwear.

I have narrow feet and my Brooks Pure Connects are very giving on the front, even without the big toe box. I agree that "style" shoes with big clunky heels are terrible for the feet.

Looking back at the pictures they have, I'm going to go ahead and say it's misleading - probably intentionally so. They seem to have picked photo angles that REALLY do not show that front end for what it actually is.

I hope so. I had gotten these black ones so they could be worn with jeans and the like.

If you have any of their other models for me to possibly consider, I'd appreciate it. Maybe I just made a mistake with these?

And to be clear - I'm NOT a runner.

They do have an overhead view that show how the front looks. Maybe I an not understanding what you mean by front end.

I got these that I wear with jean. I even wear them for business casual.

Hanas
I have the rust and black

I should get these in tomorrow.

Glenns

I got the brown

I only wear the Prios for working out and run occasionally to break up my workout routine.

ETA. I am old so I really don't give shite about what people think about my shoes.
