Doesn’t really matter imo unless you need to get heels down for comp. I used my squat shoes for bench in comp but do whatever now.

Purple and gold ones, please take my money.

How true to size are they? I wear a men's 10 for all my shoes.

Here's my take on it, fwiw

Having a good arch and good leg drive is important for a good bench press. If your good arch and leg drive dictate that you are on your toes, then it doesn't really matter if you are wearing a flat sole or a gym shoe.

If you are flat footed during your good arch and leg drive than I would suggest you wear the flat sole shoe that you wear during your leg days. Solely on the basis of, it's what you know and what you're comfortable with.

Truth be told, I've never coached anyone to drive through their heels on a bench press. Most leg drive is going through the balls of the feet.

TL:DR; Leg Drive Important. If you're on your toes during your bench then it doesn't really matter, Something that grips well. If you're flat footed, then use the shoes that you squat/deadlift in.

Depends on goals, though.

Good arch is important for “technically” lifting more (competition and ego lifting).

Not so important for actually getting stronger/growth.

Sorry, just saw this and it likely doesn't apply any more. But the TYR lift shoes are mostly true to size. Maybe a little on the snuggush side in teh width department. But I think that is a good thing for lifting. And I have a wide foot.

Are there any preferred, top brands? So many recommendations on Google. Is it ok to wear heels as a lifter, or cause risk of injury when you train?

all depends on the org you are lifting in if you are competing and what rules

but

if you just normal guy, get a pair of Oly lifting shoes or if you want regular style shoes than get some hard sole cross trainers like metcons or get some barefoot shoes like xero.
