I am installing gym equipment in a 27’ x 25’ room. I am planning to put in a multi-function trainer, six selectorized weight stack machines, and some free weights. I know nothing about the manufacturers for this equipment. Do any of you have advice on the best supplier/manufacturer?

Prime is top tier, their row machine is the best.

Are you prepared to spend 40k+ on a home gym?

Yes. It’s a lot more than that when you count the building.

I looked at their website, and that is some cool looking machines.

Start with a really nice rack, bench, full set of dumbbells, kettle bells, lay pull down/low row, functional trainer, ghd/reverse hyper combo

From there look at the “cost no object” list on bodybuilding.com

As far as manufacturers

Elitefts
Rogue
Sorinex
Rep
Bolt
Legend fitness
Prime
Arsenal
Roger pendulum line
Power lift
Hammer strength
Panera

Look on that thread though, doctor out of Miami travelled the world trying out equipment, anything on that list is A++

I’m excited for when Rep releases their Adonis tower LINK. Also been looking at the Arcadia LINK

I would say at least consider the high end Oxefit (all digital - wave of the future) machine (if they will quote you), if your budget is as high as you suggest. The XS1 is their "entry" machine and it isn't bad for what it is. Support is great so far.

But, their XP1 is next level. It is what Dak Prescott uses (of course he's invested in the company).

The XP1

My cheap CAP barbell set has lasted five years without a hitch. I'm glad put the money I saved toward a nice rack and a Concept 2.

This was the most recent home gym thread I could find, and I didn’t wanna start a new thread to ask dumb questions.

With Prime day coming up I was looking for a power rack and found the Mikolo F4 Power rack. Comes with almost every attachment I could imagine needing for getting started on a home gym. Was wondering if any of yall had any info on the brand or the setup as a whole? Cost listed at $399

Obviously I’ll need a bar, plates and start working on a DB set but the bar and plates I can probably piece together on market place. For now I’m just trying to get a good rack in the shop

It’s a little crazy to me you’re about to invest this much into a home gym and don’t even know the main brands.

Maybe if you quit crying into your panties you’d have realized I was responding to the OP.

Generally for home gyms, the ratio between the versatility of a piece of equipment to the footprint is king. That’s why barbells and a squat rack are king. You can progressively train the entire body with a variety of movements in a 5x10 footprint.

As far as machines, my absolute favorites are the nautilus chest supported row and the nautilus decline chest press.

- Mult-function Smith, etc. Inspire FT2

Plate Loaded
- Hoist Glute Thrust

Free Weights
- Dumbells 5 lb to 60 lb at 5 lb increments with extras at 7.5, 12.5, 17.5 and 22.5
- One set of adjustable Nuobell dumbells 5 lb increments to 80 lb max (These are super nice)
- 5 curl bars and 5 straight bars 20 lb to 60 lb at 10 lb increments
- One elliptical row machine Inspire CR 2.5 Cross Row
- Preacher Curl station
- One barbell and an assortment of plates
- One heavy bag on an 8’ rail
- Two sets of TRX straps ceiling-mounted

Haha. I'm 62 and just trying to avoid the "I've fallen and I can't get up" predicament.

Bodybuilders don’t want racks brah. They just want strict iso movements.
