Are FitBit heart rate readings fairly accurate?

I can't speak for Fitbit, but my Garmin FR245 has the wrist based sensor and it's pretty close to my chest strap in my experience. I can't imagine Fitbit would be too far off.

My garmin 245 is always damn near dead on when I check it against other monitors. But I think garmin is also ahead of the others when It comes to wearables

I have apple watch and it been pretty accurate. I test it with my medical pulse ox.
