you would be better off doing less running and lifting more

Building strength is good for overall health and longevity. Running, eventually, will wear you down. You can continue running, but you’ll get more out of lifting.

Im pro lifting too, but you way oversimplified it and villinized running which isn't true.

I think it's good to be able to lift and not get tired running to the other side of your yard. I do both.

Cardio absolutely improves heart health which is important.

Lifting is important as well, and being at least decently strong will help with every day tasks. But just like running 50 miles a week, lifting really heavy is going to stress your body and could lead to injury, joint issues, etc.

Your post insinuated you are definitely going to have issues running and won't by lifting, which is absolutely untrue. Be smart about both and you'll be fine.

Not a powerlifter. And I don’t run because I hate it. I prefer to work conditioning in other ways.

Powerlifter. Strongman. Whatever.

And that's fine. But many people enjoy it.

This isn't the first time you have injected your own personal opinions about running into a "running is bad for you" post.

Im not being a dick, but are you really doing conditioning or are you saying you are doing conditioning because you push a sled wait 5 minutes and then push a sled again?

Likewise, always hated distance running and never really saw the point for my purposes. Even when I was a 135# soccer player I thought it was totally pointless and pure torture.

No, I’m actually doing it correctly. I load the prowler, push as hard as I can for 80 feet, turn around, push again, and take as short of a break as possible. I also do farmer carries, yoke walks, sandbag carries, etc.

It's funny how different I feel towards running as opposed to just three years ago. I used to HATE running and was lifting 5-6 days a week. Now I absolutely love running and have to just about make myself lift once or twice a week on a good week.

Well, you could have just said that instead of claiming that running will wear you down.

I'll run levees or sprints and enjoy it simply hate jogging with a passion, whatever works best for you. At least we aren't sitting around with a 31 BMI and 38 waist thinking we aren't fat.
