I'd get the occasional flair up, but man, the last few weeks my arse has been on fire. It hurts when I wake up, then goes away by the time I get to work. It'll flair up in the afternoon, then another flair up before I go to bed.
Any suggestions on stretches, massages, injecting heroin directly into the muscle?

Yep.
#1 is a lacrosse ball. Massage deep and often. It will hurt.
#2 is the pigeon pose. Do it when you wake up and before bed.
#3 is reverse hypers. If you don't have a gym, get a large ab ball and do them with it.
These 3 things have helped me tremendously.

I'll look into all of these. Thanks.

My dad had the radiofrequency ablation and it's given him relief. Supposed to last 9-12 months but it's been over two years and still working. PT and steroid shots didn't help. He wasn't a candidate for surgery because his back was such a mess they thought they might make it worse.

My friend has the ablation done on his neck yearly. Sounds awful, but it seems to give him relief.

The yoga updog stretch helps me. I try to do it everyday.

All these plus squats and deadlift cured mine.
OP you likely have pseudo sciatica. It is from inflammation of the piriformis and it’s hitting you sciatic nerve.

I just had my second injection in it. Left side.

I was told to rest and ibuprofen. Turn the mind off and let the muscle tension go down then get into stretching. Best to you.

Standing Cross leg forward fold should give you immediate relief.

If I don't squat and dead it hurts. If I do squat and dead it hurts. So I squat and dead.

Yeah. Went to the doc. All kinds of test done. Said it was some muscles. I swear it is a disk at times. But muscle relaxers and exercise do wonders.
