Made it through the week and Friday night without cheating, starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as cravings go! Those first few days were pretty tough.

I can definitely feel a curb in appetite; maybe it’s because I been fighting a bad sinus infection all week but I feel a tad weaker. Then again all my joints have hurt due to my sinus infection so I couldn’t train

Decided to start my diet/exercise journey, stepped on the scale after noticing my favorite shirt was too tight. Realized what I thought was just an extra 10 lbs was really 30lbs I've put on over past several months.
I feel there used to be a sticky thread with advice and help?
- Going to start slow by becoming more active, increasing my step total from around the 8k I average now to 12k which is a small change.
- Also, I have some dumbbells here so I can start using them along with body weight exercises.
- Biggest thing is diet. I'm a bored snacker. Although my snacks are considered "healthier" I need to cut back. Overall I tend to eat a lot of chicken and lean meat.
- starting easy by doing 100 sit ups a day, 50 in the morning and 50 at night
- I don't drink soft drinks, mainly unsweet tea and water during the day and only drink beer on the weekends currently.
Hopefully looking to increase this after two weeks and then every two weeks after for awhile. What apps do y'all suggest? MyNetDiary for food tracking, Fitbit for steps, Musclebooster for strength, mydailyexrcise for activity is what I downloaded today.

February 28, 2023 I weighed in at 304 LB and decided I really needed to do something if I wanted to watch my boy grow up and be able to do things with him. This morning, I weighed 232 lb. From that day until April 16th, I dieted by essentially going "carnivore" foods only. I dropped 15 ish lbs in that time fram. Then I started lifting weights. I also went to a "wellness" consultation and got complete bloodwork done. Found that I had severely low Testosterone and had hypothyroidism. Supplemented the two and I feel better than I ever have. I get my bloodwork done every 6 months to make sure lipid panel stays good as I eat so much red meat. Keeps getting better with each visit. I found the bloodwork gamifies weight loss a bit.

Light beer just isn’t doing the job. Maybe I’m not drinking enough of it.

Why?

Weight loss is pretty simple.
Don’t drink your calories and that includes alcohol. Just drink water or zero calorie drinks.
Get 8+ hours of sleep every night.
Weight train with a program.
Move. Goal of at least 10,000 steps a day.
Eat protein when you’re hungry. It’s difficult for your body to turn protein into fat. If you want something sweet - eat fruit.
Reap the benefits.

Sweet Potatoes have been hitting my sweet cravings lately. This sounds weird but I swear it is delicious and is pretty low carb. 8 oz of ground beef, 3 oz of cubed SP (Air Fryer), and mustard mixed together. Fantastic, easy, high protein, and satiating .

This! It has been working great for me so far. I'm now down to 193 pounds from the 215 I was at when I posted earlier in the thread. My weight loss has slowed down, but that is to be expected. No drinking calories, I'm limiting carbs without counting them, eating more protein, not snacking at night or between meals (when I do eat something in between it is an apple), lifting weights and walking/running throughout the week.
My wife is aggravated that my clothes don't fit anymore, but that's a good problem to have.

2 weeks in on Ozempic, down to 211 from 217.
Will retain some water if I weigh myself again tomorrow since I indulge on my birthday.
Was able to get 3 days of strength training consecutively plus jiu Jitsu yesterday. Back to the mats tomorrow

Update,
This is either week 3/4, weight down to 208/209. The increased in dosage also seems to curb my appetite more, I’m a little more lethargic, but not feeling moody/depressed/irritable. I just know I have a little less energy and having to dial down my workouts a little

Keep up the great work! I’m still losing weight and am now down to 188. I haven’t been this light in 5 years, so I’m pretty ecstatic.
In addition to my change in eating habits and working out/running/walking, I’ve been extremely active doing rigorous landscape projects at the house. That’s helped a ton.

Thanks, I’m gonna consider decreasing my dosage of ozempic from 12 to 8 units, it’s too strong for me. Too much nausea

That shot is dangerous, eating less and eating healthy is not dangerous.
