Quick and easy today. Squats were easy, those walking lunges not so much

I did film some of the first few days hoping to get a re-share from them, but alas they never did, so I stopped

I have to do it in the morning and I only have 300 lbs of weight. So that will have to do...

Tough but solid one this morning. 95% moved pretty good.

Finished right around 65 minutes. But I didn’t take the full breaks.

That was a LONG workout. For me it was 1:50. I added in several warm-up sets on squat, bench, and CG bench in addition to time spent locating plates (public gym) and putting shoes on/off since I decided to use knee sleeves today. My shoulder pain is horrible without those warm-up sets to get it moving.

Overall, it was a great workout. I had to push to get the 95%, but I kept my back flat and didn't let form suffer. I need to focus more on not stopping at the bottom of the squat. Just that slight pause at the bottom is enough to get doubt in my head. Like normal, bench got better in the later sets when my shoulder really got loose. It's ironic, but I feel like my CG bench is much stronger than regular bench. I misread the BB curls and did sets of 15.

Side note, anyone see the presidential Squatober/Deadcember '24 shirt drop? It's tempting me.

I got some weight on my shoulders, to me it’s like feathers.

I normally don't eat breakfast, but I had to push my workout to lunch today and ate a big breakfast in preparation.

My final set was 105% of my working max and I got it with relative ease.

I did 75% on the BP instead of 70, and felt like I should have done 80%

Turns out eating before working out is helpful

I usually workout fasted. But during Squatober, I always try to eat something. PB/Honey or Nutella Uncrustable, small box of cereal, etc. Something easy on the way to the gym with my preworkout.

It's newer and doesn't have as much of a following as Squatober, but I enjoy it more. Aaron doesn't program it; Daniel McKim writes it. He uses some interesting methods to determine sets/reps. He'll have you roll dice, flip cards, etc. I'm waiting for him to have a day where you have to paper/rock/scissors someone at the gym to determine the scheme.

Day 25 done

Everything went up good. Glad to have 2 full days to recover from this week.

Excited to see how the end unfolds as first Squatober for me.

Geaux tigers this weekend!

We got after it: took turns doing the skits with maybe a minute between sets in them, then rest when partner was squatting. Then one of us did chins while the other benched. This was my master plan to not unrack every time I squatted lol.

Matched my lifetime PR at 385; pretty tired after this week tho. Finishing up the recovery walk and going to crush a pot roast soon

I was actually thinking about doing Benchamin Franklin soon. And that post peaked my interest. I hope he’s serious.
