If the focus is getting stronger in the squat, do it and stop basketball for the month. If it's living and having fun and squat is just a means to the end... pick another ppsa program. Squatober isn't all that fun lol

I highly disagree. I enjoy the hell out of it.

I’ve got two weddings in October. No way I could get it done this year and not doing it another month because that’s lame.

I'm going to give it a try. I don't have many dumbbells, so I might have to substitute any DB work.

5 days a week. Some days are 12-15, some are 20 plus.

Look at the examples, that's 3 consecutive days....it builds on you, trust me.

No clue what weights to use on DB carries and overhead carries. Have never done them. Can I just start light and progress through the month?

Yep, start light, adjust as needed.

Ugh I’m up in the air if I wanna do this again.

I could use it that’s for sure. But I always have to supplement to keep up with other areas and workouts become very taxing. It’s just not enough shoulder and back volume.

Maybe I’ll get the wife to do it with me. Doesn’t solve any of the problems I listed but I’ll have a podnuh to suffer with me. Freakin squats.

Uh…my regularly scheduled lifts I guess.

Deadlift and occasional pull-ups are the only back variations. I dunno if there were any rows the entire month. No lat pull downs. Deadlifts are great but the occasional light weight low volume deadlift isn’t growing my back the way I need it.

No real chest variations either. No flies, no incline. I suppose I can swap some of the bench days with incline bench. But strictly speaking this is a month that misses a few important muscles.

You don't need flies nor incline to grow. He usually has good bit of volume on heavy chins and heavy carries to build the back.

But the month is really about driving the squat and the massive benefits that come from that. aNytime you do a specialization program....you have to give a little on other things..

If you don't do it, you might want to look at strongville,Brickhouse remastered or periodic table of thickness.

I did my first ever set with 25s and quickly switched to 15s after that.

That was overhead. I do 50s on regular carry.
