As did I....after a 6 hour session, 3 would be a good target.....for "improvement"

Just to reiterate, and it's my fault if I was unclear from the outset, I did not workout for 6 straight hours. I started at midnight and finished at 0600. Within that six hours I completed all the sets and reps on each exercise included in the 70s big day, but it was mostly me sitting down, or trying to stay warm, stretching, cursing, shaking my head, etc. I watched Day of the Dead, scratched the dog's belly, hemmed and hawed on whether or not I should finish(If I didn't finish I would just have to re-start it again today... NO THANKS!), ultimately deciding to just plug away at it until I was done.

I'm a mostly self-employed, unmarried, childless person, I got nothing but time, so it's not that difficult for me to devote this kind of time to something. Currently there is nothing else I'd rather be doing.

Quick one this morning. Used the safety bar for both sets of squats. Much needed break for my left biceps/shoulder.

One more day fellas!

It was a quick one at around 35 minutes.

I agree with you, Friday 13th is going to be a killer

Just finished riding the Seesaw. 90% was 260. It was a little light. Looking forward to the retest.

After doing lower reps on squats, I've discovered I hate the low weight, high rep sets.

I spent more time stretching this morning than I usually do. Starting to feel a little beat up. I'm looking forward to a couple of days of rest this weekend.

This is really a pretty easy workout. I'm ready for a big bench day soon.

Like clockwork, Twitter/X strength coaches are throwing shade.

Strength coaches squatting every day for the month of October aka “Squatober” or whatever it’s called is so weird.

Why is there one month where we’d train the same muscle group every single day? Who started this?

I mean he’s right. It’s one thing to do it for moral support and a sense of community but it isn’t ideal for muscle growth

Day 11 in the books.

I took much longer today warming up and stretching. I went with a 5x5 SS of empty bar squats (with pause at bottom), OHP, RDL, bent rows, and the written pause goblet squats. With warm-up and stretching (~20-25 min), today was just under an hour. I really liked the pause squats. They were different and just felt good. Looking forward to closing out the week tomorrow.

Edit: This may be a dumb question, but on front squats does it really make a difference whether your palms are up or down? I tend to go palms down with a straight wrist as it's easier for me to get my elbows up and control the weight. Most videos I've seen however have palms up with the wrists bent at a hard angle.

It really doesn't change the bar position, so I wouldn't think it mattered.

I love how the person quoted Squatober then said whatever it’s called. Sick burn.

Lighter load today felt good, ready to finish the week strong tomorrow.

Front squats are growing on me, starting to like them

Is there a trick to holding the bar for front squats? Every time that I do it, I usually end up holding onto the bar but I've seen folks with just their fingers on it or do I just need to start really light?

This is basically what I was asking above. I do them palms down and straight wrists. The bar lays across the very top of my arms almost to my shoulder but not quite to the collar bone. I have better control this way and it easier for me to keep my elbows from dipping down.

Have yall checked out tomorrow's plan. It's NOT the test for the TM change we thought it would be. It's a rough one. I'm shooting for option 3 on both squats and bench. I feel like I can get it on both.

Are you holding the full weight of the bar with your arms though?

I have my fingers wrapped around the bar, but I'd say the vast majority of the weight is on my arms.

I don't know if it's the right way or best way, but it works for me.

Ok, so its fine to feel a good amount of weight on your arms for the entirety of the set?

I don't know if it's fine, but it doesn't really bother me. I'm hoping some of the other more experienced people chime in.

I was searching online for grip options and what I'm doing is similar to 'Clean Grip With Straps'. I may try this next time.
