Power Blocks
Core
Bowflex
Which are the least awkward? Trying to build a home gym slowly. I’m old, so no need for anything over 50-75 lbs.

The Bowflex is pretty awkward and hard to get used to at first. The knob for adjusting cuts into my thighs when I'm racking/unracking for chest presses.

Going from a gym to my Bowflex ones at home was a little different, but I adjusted pretty quick. Like said above, takes a little change in technique using your legs to assist em up/back down. I like the grip, and was damn happy I never got rid of them once the quarantine came. Between those and some cheap Utopia resistance bands and handles, I was able to keep on trucking with my workouts.

Do you have the 52.5 or the 90s?

Powerblocks or ironmasters are way better than the Bowflex.
Btw people will say you can't drop the powerblocks, if you get the urethane, you can drop them, just not from more than waist height.

I have the Bowflex 55lb set. I like them alot. I happened to have them before the virus. Can you even get any of these right now?

The prices are insane right now on everything, nothing available straight from manufacturers. Put my name on the Bowflex and Core list.

I have the 90 lbs Bowflex and love them

You get used to the bowflex awkwardness easily. My only minor issue is my knuckle scraping the side on bench if my grip isn't just right cause it's a little narrow.

I have a 15-year old set of the Bowflex 52.5s. I checked back in my receipts and see that I bought them new on ebay for $444 total (including $120 shipping.)How does that compare to now?
Mine are still totally fine.

I've seen used ones with a stand listed for 800. If they got that much I couldn't tell you.

I have 5-70# Powerblocks and love them. You can buy a 5-50# set initially and then buy expansion sets to increase the weight if needed down the road. Just watch which ones you buy because I think some have expansion ability and some may not. I have the elites and love them. Highly recommend.

Just go with this set and pick up additional plates at Academy.
Should be able to get a full set up to 75 for < $100 or so.

Welp. The night after I posted on here about how much I love my Bowflex dumbbells, it breaks. One of the plastic rings that holds the largest weight plate partially snapped which causes the plate to fall in certain positions. The replacement handle is $130 so I’m trying to fix via Loctite.

Damn that sucks.
I really recommend the powerblocks. Like another posted said, you buy the smallest 0-50 set and just expand as you can afford it.

Has anyone had any experience with the modular kettle bells?
