Bodybuilders were considered freaks back then. Most people didn't even exercise per se, because most jobs were physically demanding and there wasn't quite the abundance of cheap food there is today.

During WWII, the avg GI came into the service at 5’ 8” and 144lbs. WWI...5’ 7” and 136. And we had one of the taller/stronger populations back then...

They’re put on 5-25lbs during training. We were small folk back then. Funny tracking the heights of humans from prehistoric times to today.

Easy exercises except for fig 2. I don't think I could pull that off.

If you read the article it’s actually pretty sound advice (excluding a few lines) considering it’s from 1925 the exercises are weird but I agree with the premise
