You weren't.

This is what I was asking.

If swimming and pushups and shite I can do at home is a waste of time, I might as well not do it then.

Food is my hobby, so anything beyond portion control and mildly watching what I eat is out of the question. I'm not willing to eat chicken and brown rice

I can barely afford a book of stamps much less a gym membership for weights.

You have to understand, though, that swimming and pushups and eating "okay" is a massive leap from my normal pizza/buttery French food/never exercised in my life.

Kinda sucks if changing those things will do nothing. Damn I'm already a small person. Smaller than most. I am just wanting my 18 year old body back and it doesn't seem like it's that far out of reach, which is why I'm bombarding you with questions :)

Im not saying you were. Im saying that she wasnt that far off base. No fat does not "turn" into muscle, but she was at least on the right premise.

Both, really. I would say it wasn't the smartest thing I've done. Looking back, I should've done a hybrid, but you live and learn.

Oh I didn't think there was anything wrong with that. I was more just interested in what a typical workout looks like for you if you do a lot of bodyweight exercises. Because that's mostly what I do.

look up HIIT training workouts on youtube.

there are good videos that dont require weights and will work to lower your bf%.

you can follow along at home.

I guess it's kinda both. I do T25 and X3. I have to admit it's draining, but I can't dispute the results.

I'm really interested in calisthenics. I'm pretty good at stuff like that, so I would love to up my game.

Awesome. Thanks

Turkey: Cpt has a brash personality, but (unless I'm confusing him with someone else) I've always agreed with him on a lot of things so I look past the assholery.

They are in no way a waste of time they are just not ideal for building muscle mass. You should definitely do both and on a reasonable schedule that you know you will maintain. It is all calories in and calories out. If you do nothing now and add swimming and push-ups you will eventually lose weight assuming your diet remains the same.

I wish I had an Olympic size swimming pool. I would swim laps every day.

This is an excellent suggestion. If you cannot afford to buy weights you can use milk jugs filled with sand. I think that HIIT training would probably be ideal for you and I am sorry that it did not occur to me earlier.

Me too

I despise running. Maybe with a partner I could be coerced to do it sometimes. But swimming.. <3

I do as many laps as I can, rest on the side for a little bit, do as many as I can, rest, etc.

It's not as nice in a regular sized pool, but again, better than nothing. And it keeps me cool. Taking a rest when you're in a pool is way more fun than taking a rest when you're running.

Only issue with a standard pool is that the distance isn't long enough to feel anything in my core like I do when I swim longer distances.
