Wyndham was handing it to him on a silver platter when he went in the bunker off 17 tee and he totally bottled it.

I like 99% of the players.
Most of them are humble guys that have put in an enormous amount of work.
It's always been that 1% that were not nice guys like a Curtis Strange, etc..

LIV people keep reaching as it dies. It’s sad really

So, maybe he has mental health/anger issues. Are we to hold that against him? I do NOT know enough about him. Yes, he screwed up in that locker room. Cheating? When? Where? What? I missed that.
Most of these guys are pretty nice. Even Sergio stopped and talked to me after a round at Bay Hill. He didn’t have to. I’m a nobody but he talked about the course and the conditions. It was cool.
They have their moments.

that people actually like aside from Spieth?
Who likes Speith? I’m not a fan. Fleetwood seems genuine. Homa is personable. There are a few that are really good dudes.

He does have mental health/anger issues, and he used it as a crutch/excuse for years. Bashing the Oakmont lockers in wasn’t an isolated incident. He flung his driver through a sign almost hitting a fan or volunteer like two weeks earlier. A couple other incidents have occurred.
As far as the cheating allegations, he does a couple things that are technically legal, but only he really knows if he’s cheating because it’s a question of how much pressure he applies.
First thing he does is the “trenching” on the green. He plays the heaviest putter on tour and has an insane amount of tape on the bottom to add more weight. Because it’s legal to fix spike marks now, he repeatedly stamps them down with his big arse putter in an obvious path effectively creating a trench for his ball to roll though to the hole… Is fixing pitch and spike marks legal? Yes, but the way he does it is kind of egregious.
Second thing he does, in the rough, he will ground a club behind the ball, act like he doesn’t want that club, pull another and do the same thing, switch back and forth and be indecisive, but will always be grounding the clubs right behind the ball. You do this enough times, and you’re moving into improving your lie territory. Again, is this legal? Technically yes. It’s legal as long as you are not applying pressure to the club, but he only really knows if he’s being honest in his intentions. This was called out on tv today by Trevor Immelmann and Frank Nobilo.

Wow, did not know this about him.
Kinda sad. Hope he can get good help.
Too much talent to be an arse.

I’m torn on blow pig.
He’s got insane game, has done some interviews where I think, eh, he’s alright, probably pretty fun to party with.
God knows how many tantrums Scottie and others have thrown that we don’t even know about, for some reason the tour protects some vs others,
Still want him on the Ryder Cup team, his putting and shot making ability are top notch.
Hell of a win today by him, if you like golf, he’s fun as hell to watch when he’s on.

Scottie trashes clubs all the time and does the exact same thing with changing clubs behind his lies.
Everyone doesn’t have to be Fleetwood.

Wow. All that “cheating”, you would think he would win more often.

Does it really have that much of an effect? If so, I’m gng to start doing it

Guys I’m just answering the questions. I’m not a fan of Wyndham at all. He doesn’t do himself any favors, but he’s not the only one out there playing in the gray area in regard to improving lies and trenching. His name is just often mentioned by the podcasters and twitter journalists.

I just think about the what Tiger, Phil and hell, even boom boom got away with on tour and think what Clark has ever done pales in comparison. Add DJ to that list.
Again, he’s not my favorite golfer but watching someone drain 20 foot clutch putts, rip fairways woods onto par 5s in two, and get up and down from Mars is pretty fun if you like golf.

I have always said I love his swing…hate his attitude.

And Scottie? Hate his swing? Love his attitude?
