Okay, I have played that one. Just did not remember the name.
Only remember a few of the holes. I do remember one of the levee holes.

If Bayou Bend is the worst course you’ve ever played you must be living right. It’s not Oakbourne but it’s not THAT bad

Is Bayou Bend great? Of course not. But usually in decent shape and fun as hell. People in the clubhouse are great and the cheeseburger is elite. I mean really ELITE.
Always fun
Always fun

Its going to have to be Ultra private Ville Platte Country Club when the greens are really shite for me. I enjoy myself most of the times honestly. Just don't expect much

Spring Country Club (not sure why they put country club on there) in Spring, TX. It's 9 holes. I played some rough places as a youngster, so wasn't expecting much. Just started playing again and wanted somewhere that was cheap to just try out a round. First hole was a par 3. I hit the green on my first shot on a course in 15+ years and was ecstatic. Got up there and the grass was longer than a typical fairway. Green was soft mud and the ball was plugged. The greens were not puttable. This was every green. One was so bad, they just put a flag in the "fairway" next to it. Additionally, a few holes they were trenching around the greens to I assume put in sprinklers.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt because it was new management and they were definitely dumping a lot of money into it, but mostly on the driving range and some pickleball courts. Went back with my son a couple months later and it was his first time on a course. I no longer gave benefit of the doubt when everything was in the same exact condition. Trenches were in the same spot and hadn't been touched. Greens were in the same condition, etc.. It's not like the course had any character either.
They focused on their range and pickle ball courts. It's nice with launch monitors, food trucks, drink service, patio's set out for hanging out. But there's not enough room for it. They've got nets, but it's so narrow and short, you will absolutely have range balls all over the holes around it. Not to mention having your head on a swivel while playing (luckily, I went first thing in the morning with no one there).

Covington Country Club (Should revoke that Moniker) says hold my beer. No driving range or practice facility, no staff, no pro shop, and a few holes are simply unplayable (hole 6 hasn't really had a serviceable green for over 8 years). Public golfers are the worst as there aren't many public courses in the area. Been a member from way back when it was totally private. It was a beautiful place. But now, it is barely playable and if the greens don't recover come growing season, it may as well shut down.
It’s such a shame too. I love that course since it’s the only public around and “the oldest in St. Tammany” - the front 9 is technical, but fun while the back 9 gives you some breathing room.
Not a member but played it almost weekly until this spring. It’s not worth the $65 with the green conditions when oak harbor is pristine for the same price + range. I wish the owner would fix them or sell it to someone who will, but I have a feeling it will just become more houses…

In the mid-90s, I'd have to say Barksdale AFB. Both the practice round and multiple tournament rounds of the State 4A championship had like of worm dung piles everywhere. In 2015, the worst course was the old Avoyelles golf course between Bunkie and Hessmer. It was called Bay Hills ?? in the 90s and when I played it, Gator Grounds or something ??. The same worm crap but British Open type fescue just about everywhere up to 4 ft high. Whoever was caring after that place didn't have the knowledge nor resources obviously. Even Spring Bayou's hardpan layout in the 90s was far beyond much better condition ??.
