Boy has had some bad misses in this tournament. He is scrambling his tail off but his putting keeps letting him down.

Try a mallet or plumbers neck or something !

He’s putted with an 8802 style putter his whole career. It’s all he knows

I don’t know jack about Golf except I always rooted for Phil. Is he at a point where he will never win another major ? He’s about 48 years old but I don’t see him regaining a top 10 ranking. I think he was #49 heading into this weekend.

I know Phil is worth at least 300 million so when does he hang it up on the regular tour ? He never became number one in the world and he seems content just to be in the middle of the pack.

Phil just turned 50 in June and he’s still playing at a high level.

He’s 50, I like phil but I don’t think he wins another major. He will likely contend at the masters for 5 more years

They all try different putters during practice and the offseason. Probably hasn’t found anything that performs better for him.

I think Phil has a better chance of winning a major than Tiger.

I don’t think Tiger wins another, and I believe Koepka gets close to Tiger’s major total.

True.

But he has unlimited access to the Toulon Garage and all of its toys.

His reluctance to change has certainly cost him tournaments.

Phil has always been a tinkerer and a gunslinger so the putter thing is perplexing.

Its not like his putting can get any worse.

One guy last won a major in 2013. One is the reigning Masters champion.

His first putter was a Yonex Super ADX. My coach at IMG had one and it was a beautiful putter and incredibly soft. Given Mickelsons stroke, it’s probably the best putter for him.

Does Phil come into your work and ask why don’t you flip burgers with a different spatula?

Koepka is like 6 behind Tiger at age 30. He’s not getting close

He's won 4 in the last 3 years entering 2020 and has been 2nd in the last Masters & US Open. He seems to thrive in the Majors.

I think he will win at least 4 more over the next 4 years and I don't think he has the distractions that Tiger had in his mid 30's. Tiger went 11 years without winning a major until last year.

Phil did try the Scotty Cameron Futura line mallets back in the early/mid-2000s,

Your right, totally forgot about that .

It just seems like when he gets a 3 footer, it seems like it no better than 50/50 he makes it.

I have always like Phil and really want him to win again.

As I was typing this at 2:15, he just missed a straightforward 8 footer, he pushed it.

What model is he using? He was using that black and white mallet for a while. Don’t recognize this mallet

He is using his old Odyssey 8802 copy that looks like it has a lot of forward press and a weird weld on it.
