After 5 years I just had a bushnell tour v3 go out on me.

I’m kind of pissed, it should have lasted much longer considering it’s price.

Anyone here have a GPS watch?

What device do you use to get your yardages on the course?

I have the Pro XE. But honestly, the Wingman is awesome and at a great price. $150 for an excellent speaker that automatically calls out the yardage to front middle and back when you pull up to the tee. And will do it manually when you stop at your ball using a button you can either leave on the speaker or put in your pocket. Really good sound too. Basically, if you want FMB info without having to touch your phone or look at anything. I don’t often pull out the twinge finder anymore.

How accurate is the wingman? The app has some low ratings but don’t really know why.

If there’s one flaw I’ve found that it’s too quick to call out the distances when you hit the next tee. You have to wait a second for the GPS to settle before you hit the button again. The app seems to work fine. It’s using your phones gps.

I have a v4, but I also have a Bushnell Phantom GPS as well as a buddy of mine having one. Same thing as the wingman from what information it provides (front, middle and back) but digital.

Large display and has a magnet that attaches to the cart.

Very accurate in my experience and cheap, only $100. I find often if my buddy has his in the cart I use that over the v4. Just super easy.

WOSPORTS rangefinder I got off Amazon for $79. Works great for me. Not sure how much better a more expensive one could be.

I have a Callaway with Nikon optics, it is well over 10 years old. It is right on the money yardage wise with the high dollar Bushnells.

I am on the 3rd battery now.

I bought a SkyCaddie Touch off eBay last year for $6.95 because 2ndSwing didn't have the original charger (basic USB).

Paid $20 for the LA maps through SkyCaddie, since I only play locally most of the time, I didn't care to buy the more expensive ones. I've taken it to several MS Gulf Coast courses and it still works just like it does in LA. Not bad for $27 total

Still rocking the Luepold GX1 or whatever model it is. That thing is at least 15 years old but still works too well to replace it.

I am now a Wingman guy. I agree with all the observations but will add this. You can easily track your hole by hole score and fairways hit plus putts per hole. I like that it also tells you your distance to any water hazard. Also very useful on courses with pins that have no reflectors ie, Beau Chene CC; my rangefinder cannot pick up distance off the pins at BC. My two cents it is a great device.

Had 2 ProXE, the magnets were cool but they were trash overall. Way over priced. Got the GX-5i and love it. The clarity is light years ahead of the XE. Plus Leupold customer service is top notch

Bushnell Phantom, just enough features for a hack like me without spending a lot of money.

I had the old binocular looking bushnell forever and loved it. It finally died. I bought the Hybrid on ebay because it was the cheapest one I could find.

It actually works really well. tells you front middle back on the screen and then when you shoot the pin it tells you front and back in the viewer.

You almost have to charge the GPS battery after every round which kinda sucks. But other than that it has worked great.

I'm just getting back into golf. What are the advantages of these devices over using a phone app? I'm currently using Grint.

Exact distances to a specific target. Not just front, middle, back.
