Was supposed to open towards the end of April. I know the LIV stuff probably threw a wrench into some of the course renovations, but I haven’t seen any announcements or anything concerning when it’s going to reopen

The last update from end of March
quote:

Dear Annual Pass Holders and Golfers,

The construction phase of our driving range is now complete. Our agronomy team is now focused on growing strong, healthy turf capable of handling daily play, ball pickers, and mowing equipment. We will be evaluating week by week and open as conditions allow. At this time, we do not have a set opening date. We will continue to keep all of you updated. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we look forward to delivering a top-quality practice facility.

We look forward to seeing you at Bayou Oaks soon!

Warm regards,
Ed Carlisle Jr. ed@bayoudistrictfoundation.com

Last I saw was the agronomy team was waiting for the roots to firmly take hold before opening. I think the original plan was to keep it closed until the LIV event, but assume that timeline gets bumped up now.

All this rain had to be great for new grass.

They told me likely end of May last weekend when I was in the clubhouse.

I wonder if they are going to eventually let us hit off the grass now that the pros aren’t coming. I guess it would need to be on some schedule with all of that grass being in front of all the bays.

Absolutely not. They haven’t even replaced the old mats.

Would be hilarious they spent all that money creating the perfect hitting surface and then never letting anyone hit off of it.

I recently drove by Bayou Oaks and was shocked how ratty the overall appearance is weeks before LIV was scheduled.

Weeds everywhere, potholes all over the parking lot, the range side looks as neglected as ever. Too many industry maintenance buildings in clear view of the clubhouse and practice green areas.

Just a complete waste of good money on the remodel and another black eye for the city not getting the event pulled off.
