What club are you most comfortable chipping with

I have been using my gap wedge lately (52) with good not great results on green side chips. Was never confident with a 56 degree unless I really have a nice lie.
If anything, I am usually a tad short of my target. Thinking of trying a 9 iron on the practice green next week.
Anybody use lower loft clubs as a rule.

Gap wedge is my choice too. Tried other wedges but can't seem to chip with them.

56. I have learned to stay with that club and get as many reps with it. So I can be as confident with it.
And just adjust if I need to come in lower and let roll out. Or play a normal higher chip.

Do you practice chipping much?

Depends on shot, so could be PW, 8i, or 56* SW...

My 57,53, or 49 degree Hogan TK wedges. If I try any of my set irons (Taylor Made 790’s), the ball comes off too hot with no spin. I’m a “spot-chipper”. I read the chip, and decide where I want to land the ball to have it roll out to the hole. I look for a flat spot, so that if I’m off by a foot or two, it’ll still be a decent result.

Not as much as I should. I believe that it could be the angle of attack too.

By choosing one specific club to chip with you are forcing your body to compensate for distance, flight, runout etc.
By using multiple clubs to chip you can use the exact same, putting motion swing, the EASIEST swing to master, and all thats required is choosing the right club.

Just about every chip/pitch I have, I bring a 56 and 9 iron. If it’s a course you have the speed of the greens down, get the ball rolling as soon as possible.
Doesn’t look at cool as a flop shot, but results on average are way better.
