Rule 1: Fix your ball marks

Rule 2: Replace/sand divots

Rule 3: Don’t check the wind 6 times and take 8 practice swings before your shot.

1) Buy a cheap/used set that is good enough for you.
2) Groove a swing? learn to make solid contact with the ball.
3) Take some lessons
4) Get fitted and buy your "forever set"
5) DO NOT TAKE ANY GIMMES!!!! Learn to putt everything out. It will make you a better putter in the long term.
6) Don't look at the pin, shoot for the middle of the green.

You don't have to be good to play fast.

Hit the ball, then go hit it again. Play with cheap balls, and don't waste more than 1-2 minutes looking for lost balls.

When you're at triple bogie, pick up and move on.

Don't waste a bunch of time telling and listening to stories in the cart, on the green, or on the tee box.

If you're playing with someone else bad just play best ball.

Don't hit multiple shots off every tee box.

Most people won't care how good or bad you are as long as you're respectful to others on the course and don't force groups behind you to have 5 hour rounds.

While this is definitely taboo and I try not to do it, I don't care if people walk across my line. It's been walked on all day and likely just a few minutes before anyway. No one is wearing spikes. These aren't tour greens in tour condition we are walking on. Basically, it's not going to affect my putt.

1) Buy a cheap/used set that is good enough for you.
New and expensive clubs look cooler and make people think you are good.
2) Groove a swing? learn to make solid contact with the ball.
Always try and hit it farther. Chicks dig the long ball
3) Take some lessons
YouTube that shite
4) Get fitted and buy your "forever set"
See Rule 1a
5) DO NOT TAKE ANY GIMMES!!!! Learn to putt everything out. It will make you a better putter in the long term.
Do this.
6) Don't look at the pin, shoot for the middle of the green
Aim small, miss small. They haven't invented a pin you cant get it close to.

It's proper etiquette

So is waiting to replace your ball until after the next person has putted, but if I'm way out of his line and I'm next, I'm putting my ball down and starting my routine. It's simple and helps speed up the game. Other examples: Furthest out hits next. Person who birdies tees off first on the next hole. We play ready golf and don't worry about such things. But it's not technically "proper."

I don't walk in people's line. I'm just saying I don't care if anyone walks in mine. I just doesn't bother me because it's not going to affect my ball.

The only time I worry about it is for a Birdie or Eagle. I'm not hitting in front of that and ruining my karma.

Eagle, yeah. But the group I play with regularly never cares about birdies and teeing off first.
