Who’s got one in the bag?
What do you have?
Do you like it?
Tips/suggestion on purchasing?
I currently have a 4 hybrid that I launch too high. It goes 210-215 when I step on it. I hit it 200-205 with and easy punch swing. I’m thinking a driving iron would fit that spot a lot better. I have that distance quite a bit at my home course, so I need more accuracy in the wind which is almost always blowing.
I’m leaning towards the Srixon, because I love my 565s. I do plan to get fit, but thought this might be a fun topic to discuss.

I have an old Adams DHY utility iron. It’s a rocket, but I basically use it only off the tee. Occasionally into a par 5. I may update it soon, we’ll see.
I highly recommend the driving irons / utility irons. I have a ton of confidence with it off the tee and I find them much easier to hit out the rough.

I think that the Srixon and the Mizuno are as good as any that I have hit.
I didn't care for the Titleist.
I haven't tried the newest Ping version although I play the Ping G410 Hybrids.
A shaft change could bring your hybrids flight down as well. A Tensi white, Steelfiber or you could try some IRODs shafts that have been out a while and pretty cheap now.
Just my opinion, but if I moved into a driving iron, I would have a Steelfiber shaft in it.

It’s a 7 year old Srixon that I bought off the used rack for $60. I would rather sell it and buy new.
Mizuno and Srixon are my top 2, but I did hit the Titleist on a simulator and like it. I just need to get fit. GolfBalls.com needs to open soon

Went with the TaylorMade P790 UDI 2iron. Kicking my self in the arse for not buying it sooner. Even my misses go just as far as the hybrid that I was using. Been a great addition to my bag. I got fitted at the pga superstore in Katy but they didn’t have it at the store so I just ordered through TaylorMade.

One of my playing partners still hits a Ping Eye2 1 iron and he hits it really well.
He won't get rid of it.

I recently (yesterday) got a Taylormade Gapr Lo 2 iron that can loft down to 15.5. In the last month I put in a cobra utility iron 3 that I have lofted at 19. These have replaced my 3 wood and 5 wood in my bag. I just hit irons way more consistent..

Put a G410 crossover in the bag last 2 rounds. Been using it off the tee.on tight par 4s. Not sure what swing speed you're at but you have to swing it. I still struggle a bit on ball position with it. And hit a slight fade off the tee, but its pretty long and catches some run out.
Slick looking club as well

I’ve got a Callaway X Forged UT 21 bent to 19. Put the new Aldila Rogue Black in 105 TX in it a few weeks ago. Very nice addition to the bag and one that will likely stay for a long time. As far as tips/suggestions, find somewhere that has several to demo... if possible.
