TPC Louisiana Condition

Tried to play there yesterday before the rain, and the course was in terrible shape. The entire fringe around every green was dead, and there were multiple dead spots on each green. The PGA should be ashamed of the condition of the course.
We made it through 12 holes before getting rained out, and the greenskeeper would not offer any kind of rain check on a $100 round. I will not be going back.

Always happens in the summer. The summer is the low point for NOLA tourism so they offer steeper discounted rates and let the course go a good bit. There is a reason it was "only" $100 and not $250 like in the spring.

Hmmmm.....so the spring is the time to play it?

The weeks leading into and out of the Zurich Classic always provide the best conditions but also the highest prices.

It is aerification season. Few weeks back and this week.

Bayou oaks also punched couple weeks ago and they scalped fringes. Greens coming along but fringes are all rough and yellow right now. Pretty sure this is intentional, keeps the green definition when it grows in.

Played in spring definitely not 250 if you are a Louisiana resident. I think it was 104

The course is in good shape most of the year. You just caught it at a rough time on the calendar.

Played Friday afternoon for $71. You are correct about the greens. I thought I read somewhere they were primo but that wasn't the case. Glad I didn't pay full price.

They are in aerating season. Already done it once, doing it again this week, and then I think one more time in August.
Never had a real issue with conditions at TPC, some of you paying 200+ need to make sure you mention you’re a LA resident when you book.

As far as course conditions, I usually have better luck playing late fall through late spring.

We found out this spring there is also a shorter booking window to get the LA resident rate (meaning you have to book witihn xx days before your tee time to get the discount). We booked like 3 weeks in advance and they charged us full rate. We ended up booking an additional fee time closer to the date and they got the resident rate

Aerification a few weeks ago and also this week. They are very aggressive with this during the summer so in the fall and spring the course is primo!
