Seems like the top level PGA players are being forced/encouraged to play almost every week. Spieth eluded to it after the Masters. These guys are tired physically and mentally. Just my take.

Instead of crying about it, Spieth and others should start their own tour where they don’t have to play as much and make more money.

Are you advocating for fewer tournaments or less participation from the worlds best?

But but Koepka needs to admit he lost because he’s not used to playing 4 days in a row

Forced? People are so soft these days. Maybe they should start Wednesday’s and take off Friday then play Saturday and Sunday so they can have a rest day. Nobody is forcing these guys to do anything. I’m sure they all are tired after a week at Augusta. It’s one of the most exhausting events of the year and takes years off their life i assume. Being incentivized to play more cause of the major amount of money at the end is not being forced. These guys are grown men and can make their own decisions.

There are 13 elevated pga tour events (not including majors) and tour pros have to play at least 15 events (majors count)

LIV has 14 events

So if a pga player wanted to only play the minimum and all the majors they would play fewer events than a LIV player who played LIV events and majors

Speith chose to play that often. The whole LIV is less golf and more family time excuse isn’t true

That is correct, so long as you remove earning potential.

Huh?

Why are LIV knights constantly melting in here? In order to make more money, both LIV and pga players have committed themselves to playing a forced schedule. LIV 14 events are forced, and pga 13. They made their beds so don’t cry to us the fans about it. Y’all both did this for more money, not for us the fans. Pre change they had more freedom, but they all cried about wanting more independence, yet both groups lied their arse off and actually went to a system where they are more locked in then ever before

To your point, The entire premise of “LIV golfers are fling to suck now because they aren’t on a competitive tour” is such a ridiculous argument right now. Those guys were on the tour a mere few months ago. In 3-5 years if LIV still exists that can become a legit issue, as Cam Smith alluded to, but for now they are so recently removed from Tour play it won’t take any material effect. Anything you hear to the contrary is trolling or from journalists being journalist

Spieth reportedly earns $30mm/year in endorsements, earned $9 mm in PIP last year, and earned $5mm in winnings last year. So about $45mm/year. I don't know what LIV offered him, but the difference in earning potential (assuming LIV makes him ditch under armour for team logo) for the top guys with massive endorsements probably isn't as significant as everyone thinks.

If MLB guys can play 150+ games then a PGA golfer can play 80 rounds of golf with someone carrying their bad and being pampered at every tournament. They need to suck it up.

ATP guys travel the world far more, play a far more physical tiring sport, and still play more than pro golfers

They aren’t too tired, the fact is they now have negotiating power with a rival competitor with unlimited funds not geared on making a better product for fans. They have all the bargaining power now. If the LIV guys and pga guys were smart they could work together in private and work out a deal to play far less golf while still making bank. And I for one think that is happening

Imagine if these professionals had to actually work for a living.

Work on a garbage truck, construction in 100 degrees or unload a 1000 cases of Coke in the rain all day.

Spieth is a huge pussy.

So tired of that dude and everyone pretending like he’s good. He’s more insufferable than Rory these days.

Why is it so hard for these dudes to just man up and say I wasn’t good enough.

It’s always some BS “I felt like I was playing good golf yada yada, I played too much last weekend, my wrist hurt”

Heard he hit like 60% fairways for the weekend. Good lord. Man up and fix your shite, otherwise just be quiet and take your medicine. His swing is horrendous these days.

He finished tied for 4th last week after hitting 73% of the fairways (75% on the weekend and 86% on Sunday) and is currently ranked 15th in the world and finished 2022 ranked 14th.

WTF are you talking about?
