I didn’t invest but your points are well taken. Just reporting.

Purchasing a defunct golf club in need of massive renovations headed into a recession with astronomical gas and supply prices is a bold move. Not to mention the reason it keeps closing down is because it’s in the middle of nowhere and doesn’t make enough money.
Dont know why the real estate around the course never did well. Currently there is a white flight out of BR to that area now, but they are not going to the Bluffs.

you really don't know what in the hell you're talking about

Because it’s in BFE and not central to anything people need. SFV finally got a decent grocery store and some restaurants but other than that nothing really and SFV is still 25 minutes away.
Also the majority of those homes were built 25-30 years ago so styles, designs, finishes have aged out.

actually there are very few homes for sale at this time in the subdivision. i don't know how many homes could be built from existing lots or land that could be developed, but i expected a lot of for sale signs after the course closed, but it didn't happen.

It’s the best pure layout in the state. The building of the big fancy clubhouse put them in a bad financial spot. If they still had the old clubhouse I think they would have been fine. Would love to see it in really great shape!

As they say, that's a feature, not a bug.

Something isn’t adding up. I guess this is a personal pipe dream and he’s got a/some backers that he is going to rip off trying to do the necessary renovations and improvements to get open and then close in 3 years?

So he’s trying to fund the renovations through go fund me? This won’t workout.
ETA: what I would be interested in would be a discounted membership for the first year. That would help raise money and gain traffic to the course to get it up and going again.

Par for this course, unfortunately.
Pun intended.

And 1/2 of that came from his daughter.
But hey, now that the Golf Board knows about his “efforts” the goal is in reach. ONLY $799,960 to go. Who’s going be next to help?
