I use a prov1x. But at buddas I’m literally hitting anything from titleist to top flight from what i saw. I’m truly not worried about distance. I hit my 5 iron about 205 and don’t have a need to hit it further. Just felt odd that the solution would be “juiced clubs”. What ball would you recommend? You’re one of the few I’d listen to on here so let me know what you think.

The prov1x is a low spinner. You should have used those the entire time during the fitting. Always use gamers indoors. And even outdoors if you can. Getting fit off range balls is a huge no no. I play Bridgestone Tour BX. It’s another low spinner.
You can always talk to him about weakening the lofts, but just be aware that it’ll change the bounce and turf interaction if you get really aggressive with that. Did you let Buddha know about your questions and hesitation? At the end of the day, it’s your money and your golf game. First and foremost, you have to be comfortable and confident in what you got. I’ve gone back to Buddha before just to get things checked on clubs he already fit me for. He hasn’t changed a thing and just given me a thumbs up on the lies still being good. It’s nice to have that confidence.

Have been playing Bridgestone Tour BX trying to keep spin down. Just got some Vice Pro Plus to try, and I was recently told about ProV 1X left dash to lower spin on longer shots.

Spin Rate is largely a function of how you deliver the club to the ball. Typically you’ll see someone with a shallower swing spin it less than someone with a largely negative attack angle. Without seeing your numbers I’d say you are definitely in that last category.
With that being said, spin can often times be your friend. It helps minimize misses as well as keep the ball in the air. If you’re carrying your 6 iron 205 and spinning it at around 6000rpm I’d say that’s pretty ideal! My worry with the P790 and your swing speed is gapping and control. From my experience during fittings and lessons, there can be some pretty significant yardage gaps in those irons. I’ve also seen players struggle to control distances.

The proV1x spins more than the prov now. This was changed last ball cycle.
With the release of its 2017 Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls, however, Titleist switched the script. The relationship between the two golf balls changed. The 2017 Pro V1x was a higher-spinning, and still higher-flying, golf ball than the 2017 Pro V1. Some golfers didn’t realize the change, while others were simply perplexed.

I remember that change, but I thought it was only for around the greens. I've been told and heard so many different things when that happened. Because the V1 is still softer, right? Did they change it back this cycle?

No clue why they did this. Extremely confusing.
I've been playing Srixon Z Stars because they apparently have the spin skin for around the greens but still play soft. Seems straightforward enough but have gone back and forth on which V is better for me and don't like having that in my head.
I should probably work more on sucking less but nice to know what your ball is going to do/supposed to do.

This just blew my mind. My buddy told me this but i just thought he had no clue what he was talking about. Info online seems a bit confusing although I’m an idiot

This is true but not by much. I just watched a 2021 Titleist Prov1 vs ProV1X review by TXG on YouTube. Prov1 is softer and spins a little less. ProV1X feels firmer and spins a little more. Overall their distances with drivers and irons were nearly identical.
They did mention the ProV1X traveled further on putts of the same length which kind of blew my mind. I had no idea there was a smash factor on putts....

Almost everything is similar except the X is higher spin for long irons and woods.
I’m going to the left dash this year. Which is less spin.

And the left dash is basically the old X, which just adds to the confusion.
