Not sure why LIV Players would want to return. They supposedly got what they wanted with more money and less tournaments.

But, it would be a good idea to allow current Tour Players to cast a vote on any player wanting to return.

If the majority says yes or no, that should be the end of it.

Because on the PGA Tour, players can speak their mind. LIV controls the players. Read the legal documents. Players cannot comment u less approved by LIV Admin., etc. LIV controls EVERYTHING their players do.

You said Tour ready created their majors to which I asked what majors did the Tour create/run?

That's directly on topic. Care to answer it?

PGA owns all those rights, Phil knew this when he signed onto the PGA. He's been pushing to get them back, but PGA owes him nothing

The NCAA owned the rights to player NIL back in the day. Then Ed O’Bannion came along & said that’s me on that video game. I want my share of the cash from that. It took 20+ years but the NCAA were finally forced to change.

Things don’t change until somebody starts a conversation about change.

I said in another thread, of Jay opened the welcome wagon to entice LIV players back who are under contract LIV would sue for contract interference.

He made the correct response in the moment. He was asked if LIV players who want to come back would be able to. No, they are under contract elsewhere. Simple as that.

Actually the comment in this thread responded to referred to their development, not their creation or management.

There’s a difference. Without the growth and popularity of the PGA tour, all the majors would be less influential, and quite frankly of lesser importance.

I don’t keep up with who manages what, but I would suspect the PGA championship, the Players championship (the 5th major), the tour championship are all handled/sanctioned/etc by the tour.

The Open (R&A), US Open (USGA) and The Masters each have their own entities and standards for invitations.

You’re going to have a mighty hard time getting in any of those 3 if you’re not playing on the tour. Assuming they don’t modify that invitation/qualification criteria.

Sounds like a lot of tour players didn't like the LIV lawsuit and took it personally.

I def agree with this. It seems like gooch calling the LIV event “basically a Ryder cup” and the lawsuit have been two things that really rallied a lot of the top pga players.

I think the young guys who went to LIV first will have a chance to get on tour still, but guys like Reed are finished. There’s no way he’s coming back.

Rallying them to do what? Ask for a raise? Or give me some of what he's got? That's all that's happened.

The exodus of brand names from the PGA and watching these guys sign for lifetime wealth has been all the motivation the top golfers need to rebel and submit their own tour within a tour.

Monahan had no choice, if Tiger's concepts about creating their own wealth weren't adopted by the PGA there would have been no holding the floodgates back on the brand names yet to leave.

Fired from what? Tiger is the commissioner now. They just need to fix the glitch for Jay and he'll figure it out.
