Probably not honestly.

The Zurich is parked directly behind the masters and an elevated event. Most the top guys are going to use the Zurich to take a break.

I kinda enjoy seeing these younger teams throw up on themselves trying to close out a golf tournament in alternate shot.

I honestly think we might get a Scottie and Tom Kim or Sam Burns pairing one year.

I’d be shocked but it seems like he and Lowry generally have a good time. The Zurich is just in a tough spot on the schedule. It’s also not really able to be moved to a much different part of the schedule due to the course’s agronomy and climate. They can only get it in the shape they want a small portion of the calendar year.

Scottie and Burns have played before and I’m sure Tom Kim has as well. A lot of who shows up will depend on how the masters goes.

No Laying Up said this morning the players and the zurich are both happy with the format, so I don’t see a whole lot changing at this point.

I think something to spice it up would be to make the first two rounds Best Ball match play. Best Ball stroke play is boring arse TV, especially on a course that yields a ton of birdies.

This could give it more of a Ryder Cup feel. Only issues would be potentially losing big names after 1 round.

No but the sponsor who reupped for 4 more years is going to use their sponsor's exemptions wisely ...look for Tiger and Charlie to be in next year's field!!!!

Good thing Bryson, Rahm, DJ, Cam Smith, Niemann, Phil, Sergio, Bubba are all contractually obligated to come to New Orleans next year

I’d like to see one round be a two man scramble

Would be fun to see how low they could go

Scramble would feel too easy. These guys are still playing for their careers and a scramble would take a lot of the pressure off.

Only way I’d like a scramble is if they just turned the Zurich into like an all star weekend. Give everyone a week off and celebrate the games biggest stars. Draft teams and play scrambles.

Not saying that’s the direction the zurich should go, but that’s the only situation I can see a scramble on a professional tour.

Dude a team shot 58 this week that 1% of the golfing world knew who they were

It’s team golf. It’s already not serious

I think the alternate shot aspect is really tough, especially for these younger teams. Capan was completely lost on the back 9 yesterday when the pressure ramped up.

A scramble to me just feels like it would lose all aspects of a high stakes tournament.

I love scrambles with my friends, but I don’t watch tournament golf for that.

It’s already one of the worst fields on tour. Probably not getting Rory or many other top 10 players. If we’re being honest like the Saints and Pels the Zurich is a poverty tour event.

It may have been better than the field for this week's Byron Nelson.

I just looked at the field for the Byron Nelson.
You do have Scottie Scheffler, but you also have several players ranked above 500 in the world golf rankings.

I think the Zurich Classic field was definitely better.

If your tournament is not a Major, The Players Championship or a Signature Event, you are going to struggle to get big names. It is just that simple.

Look at the rest of the schedule for May.

May 8-11 Signature Event. (Truist )
May 15-18 PGA Championship
May 22-25 Charles Schwab Regular tournament.
May 29- June 1 Signature Event (The Memorial)

The Charles Schwab is going to struggle to get anyone.
