How’s it been playing? First time on this course so any tips or pointers would be appreciated.

It and the bluffs are probably the most fun layouts in the area. Lots of variety, get to hit a lot of different shots. Course was in good shape a couple weeks ago when I played.

My advice on a few holes
#3 - aim at the tree right of the fairway off the tee
#12 - play conservative, toughest hole my far
#15and #17 - may need less than driver off the tee to avoid hazards in the fairway

Edit: 14 not 15

It's been in really good shape lately. I honestly love the 6/6/6 layout and some of those greens are very oddly shaped. You'll enjoy it

They sanded the front 9 greens on Monday. I guess they probably did the back 9 on Tuesday.

On 12 if you rip a draw over 14 green into 14 fairway, you’ll have about a 5 or 6 iron into the longest par 5 on the course. Shhh it’s a secret I only bust out for scrambles and skin games.

It is baked hard in the fairways but in good shape. Greens were sanded on Monday but not plugged.

Unique course. 6 par 5's, 6 par 4's, and 6 par 3's. Dont get greedy on the par 5's.

Play all bunkers as GUR. They are terrible with little ot no sand in them. A few have been rehab'd over the last year but most are still not playable.

Hole is so awkward.

The tee shot is odd, the second shot is really odd.

#15 is a 220 yard par 3, #16 is a 300 yard par 4 with water on the right. I hate holes #17, #13, #14, & #4.

Miles of room to miss right on 3, definitely pull Drod on 7 or 3 wood if you’re long, play 8 from the tips because it’s kinda cool teeing off from the trees, play 14 as a 3 shot hole and be careful hitting driver off the tee, definitely go for the green on 16, and have fun. Cool layout that I wish was in a bit better shape

It is so much better than it has been in years. Definitely a course on a solid trajectory.

Including the advice above, don’t miss far left on 1. It’s an easy birdie opportunity unless you do, and anything in the fairway/a bit right and you have a shot at eagle.

Also, on 17, if you cannot clear the creek in the fairway, you’re better off just playing it for a 4 than pushing it.

Greens are in the best shape for the weekends. They do most the maintenance on Monday's.

Played it today. The rain yesterday in Zachary helped it out a bunch. Still some sand on the greens from Monday maintenance.

When is the last time you played there? Must have been over 2 years ago. How about you go check it out before you bash on a local course that has done a 180 in the last couple of years.

I feel like this course gets rave reviews for 6 months and then it gets really bad reviews for a year and then back to good and then back to bad.

I don't think the home owners going to let that happen. They are getting a lot of play and maybe even making money for a change.

Played yesterday, was in good shape. Greens are really good (except #2), all the bunkers I was in have been reworked and were in good shape

Supposed to be playing there this weekend. I'd rather play Beaver Creek because the course conditions are usually much better there, but my group has overruled me. Hopefully they don't get too much rain up there this week.
