How often do you play a round of golf by yourself? I travel for work and have some down time in my travels, usually just hit at a range but playing around sure would be better practice.

At least once a month and up to three times a month. Depends on my playing partners schedule.

I enjoy it, plus it's a 2:30 minute or better round. No music, no conversation, complete silence.

I’d say about half of my rounds I’m by myself. But those are usually during the middle of the week. On the weekends I have friends that can play and I’m rarely by myself

Nothing more relaxing than playing alone walking in the early morning with no one on the course but you.

Same here.

I was the first tee time this morning at Ross Bridge and was damn near giddy when the starter told me the course was all mine because the people I was paired with had yet to check in.

I used to semi-frequently but the last time I did it I aced a hole - - - no witnesses. Still chaps me.

Once a week, unless I get paired with someone. Good time to work on things

I did for the very first time last week. I really enjoyed it. I think I’ll do it more.

I play 2-3 rounds a week. If others are joining great, if not thats great also. Usually once a week alone.

I enjoy playing with my golfing group. Great conversations and great company. That said I also enjoy playing by myself and enjoying the quiet. I’m not one to try and get away from my wife and kids at every chance but everyone needs to have a little quiet time every now and then.

Not often enough! I love walking a round by myself. Nothing more relaxing and enjoyable.

I play by myself probably 2 or 3 times a month - this is 90% of the golf I play. I've done this for 10 years or so on Thursdays. Mrs. Cluster, once said "are you pIaying hooky today?" I replied, "I busted my arse for 20 years to play hooky today".

I can step out my back door and play Pine Lakes Country Club in Myrtle Beach for 4 or 5 holes in the afternoon, too, always by myself.

I enjoy the solitude, I'm on the phone all day with clients (Financial Advisor) so I like to unwind this way. Playing with the guys on Saturdays takes forever. Great guys but between the betting and the bullshite and waiting for everyone to finish, I just don't enjoy it

I play alone probably 75 % of the time. Often I'll get paired up if the course is busy and that's fine most of the time. I miss the old 9 hole course by my house where I could stop after work and walk 9 and just relax.

I really like playing with my golf buddies, but occasionally it’s nice to just get out on the course and throw an extra ball down and hit an extra, even if the first one was good

I always play alone and wouldn’t have it any other way. I often get paired with folks I’ve played with and sometimes strangers.
Playing with strangers is the best, you learn so much about a person in a round of golf.
But occasionally I get out solo and I love it. I play my best golf.

And then you run in to someone you’ve been paired with over the years and you know their game a little.

Well said. I have this same mindset.

I used to really like playing by myself and actually preferred it, but over time I really enjoy having someone to play with. It makes the round more fun and definitely helps with pace of play if you are stuck behind a group. Worst part about being a single is getting all the evil stare downs from groups

That being said, once a month or so if no one in my regular group can play on the weekend, I will book a 7:30 am tee time and go off by myself and enjoy the quiet time and peace.

Friday evenings in the fall after work, getting in 9 holes before the sun goes down, and with everybody doing something else, have the course to myself. One of the reasons I look forward to Sept/Oct/Nov. I shed a little tear walking off the course for the last round of the season due to the course closing for the winter.

To answer the OP, I golf by myself 95% of the time, playing 3-5 times a week, walking all of those rounds. Golf is not just a game but a way to exercise and maintain good health. I'd rather walk 18 than go to the gym, more fun.

Barrister: According to Golf Rules, Golf is a game of honor, your Ace is good and be will be counted.

The only thing is if you are in a Hole in one Club you cannot collect any prizes.
