The guy is complaining about your buddy hitting his neighbor’s house? That’s all you need to know about this pos.

I see an old lady that lives on the course always helping people find their balls that go out of bounds . She's a nice lady and genuinely enjoys watching people play.

Most homeowners like living on a course and will help if they can. If I’m on the patio and see someone fire one over the green, which they cannot see, I will direct them towards the spot in the higher grass that I saw it go in. Speeds up their play and they appreciate it.

My wife did learn a lesson last week when mowing the grass . . . always glance down the fairway to see if someone is hitting an approach shot when you mow close to the course. A ball hit the steering wheel of the mower and scared the hell out of her. She could not hear the guy yell “Fore” over the mower. She said he was super apologetic and claimed how bad he sucked at golf To her credit, my wife told him not to worry about it and to have fun the rest of his round.

Drop a trash ball right in front of him and fire a 2 iron piss missile right at his house.

Well since it’s well known if Mickelson hits someone in the gallery with his ball he gives them one of his golf gloves with a Ben Franklin inside so I’m sure hitting a house the same would generally apply.

Living on a course I believe some of the biggest issues are:
1. not yelling Fore and alerting them.
2. Playing the wrong tees. Quit being prideful and play the tees according to your ability not your age.
3. If you hit my house once and re-tee and hit the house or close again, more than likely your gonna get an earful.

My house can get really dangerous at times. I luckily have a good relationship with the staff where they have started moving the charity tournaments up far enough where my house isnt in the line of fire.

I don't live on a course but have friends who do. Most don't get mad if you hit a stray shot into the yard or even hit the house as long as you yell fore. The problem they have is the assholes that hit a window and then run off. At least own up to it and offer to pay, most would not accept the offer but it goes a long way in keeping things civil. There is one house on a course I play with 3 big mixed breed dogs in the yard, the dogs will often bring a stray ball and drop it at the fence as if to say here ya go.

^this is a major issue in golf.

Play forward until you break 90 three times in a row.

Then alternate until you break 80.

When you break 80 three times in a row, move back when it’s a course you know and forward when it’s unfamiliar.

If you play in less than 4 hours it doesn't matter what tees you play.

Moving up a tee box on some holes at neighborhood courses can take some houses out of play.

I agree.

People should play a tee where they can have fun. In general, I play the first tee over 6000 yards at any new course for me. At my course, I’ve played all the tees.

In general, going up a tee is worth 2 shots a side.

4 shots turns a 91 to an 87. A 83 to a 79.
It is probably more fun for most people to score better.

For plus/scratch players, I can understand wanting the challenge of the “tips.” For a 10.8 index like me, I’ll play up where I can reach par 4s with a 7 iron instead of a 5 wood, or maybe on a par 5 have a go at getting home in two.

In general, many people are playing to far back for their game. Move up, and enjoy the day!

Y’all are missing a golden opportunity for my “go to” phrase in situations like this. Simply reply “No habla ingles”. They won’t know what the hell to say.

So, you've never hit a tee shot into the rough?

Not talking about the rough, we are talking about someone's house which would be out of bounds.

And it can bring some houses into play as well.

Stop with this...unless you're just trolling, then anyone who has spent any kind of time at ANY course will tell you there are all kinds of players (good and bad) that occasionally go way off target.

Again...if you live on a course, especially near a landing spot, then expect to get hit sometimes. I mean, it's not as if the players are trying to hit the house - it's an accident, so let's all treat it as such.

Well stated.

Having said that, I'm not sure the message will get through.

If you're playing by the rules then you're supposed to retee after hitting it out of bounds...
