People who live on a golf course being A$$holes

Had a 3pm tee time today and nobody is on the Golf Course. It’s three of us and my buddy has been playing for a year but still learning. On the 2nd tee box his foot slips and his ball hits a house right on the fairway. We get to the fairway and a gentleman comes out and says “ you hit my neighbors house right next to his window” I say sorry man, it’s golf and you live on a small fairway. His response is “learn how to play fricking golf and hit the fairway, not my house” I’ve played this course for 6 years and have never had this issue. Should I take this up with the Course Director? This guy went out of his way to walk into the fairway and be an a-hole. We pay good money to play the course.
Edit to say i did a knuckle check and would have taking him to Sonic town but the older gentleman in the group settled me down and told me to keep quiet.

Remind him that if he doesn't want his house hit by golf balls, don't buy one on a fricking golf course.

Hindsight being 20/20, you should have told the clown that's what insurance is for. We all know that Tour pros hit stray tee shots. I wonder what his reaction would be if Mickelson smashed one of his windows?

If you live on a golf course and lose your cool whenever a ball hits your house, you may die of a heart attack early in life. I'm guessing the guy doesn't play. Even the best players will lose a tee shot OB every now and then.

Yeah. I grew up on Ormond CC. Maybe my dad is wrong, but he has always said that the homeowner is responsible for damage out there. The course was there first. It would be nice to pay for a broken window, but not required.

There's a lady on our course that is notorious - total piece of shite to golfers that hit into her yard.
She jumped me once, but I just started laughing at her because she wants the argument, and then just drove off. The husband just stood on the patio and didn't say a word - he's either a cuck or completely embarrassed by her, or both.
The way I understand the general rule is that if you break something, then you should offer to pay for it, but you are not required to do so, as they chose to live on a course and should have insurance for any damage.
On the flip-side, there's a dude on another hole who has had about 4 windows replaced on the back of his house and from what I hear he's cool as frick. Totally understanding and not a dick at all - has also never paid for one of the windows because he didn't come out yelling and barking at whomever broke it.

So true, I live on the course and my house has been hit a few times, but no damage yet.
I just figure it is part of course living. Been here 15 years.
One thing that I have noticed, I use to get a lot of topflites in my yard, but now the bad golfers use Pro V1s LOL....

This guy was a piece of work. I’ve been playing there for years and have never dealt with this. It was a a new build so maybe he doesn’t know what to expect.

If his house is in the fairway landing area & it sounds like it is then he is clueless about the game of golf. If I'm correct then why he would live on a golf course is puzzling to me.

I live on a course and in the example given, the homeowner was a douche.
That being said, it goes both ways and the players sometimes need to be more respectful of the homeowners. I don’t care if you walk in my yard to collect an errant shot, but don’t drive the cart up in the yard. Don’t take a piss where you can be seen by the homeowners who may have young kids in the house.
And the white stakes mean out of bounds. Don’t walk up in my yard 40 feet and plan to play the ball from my yard . . . if you take out a sprinkler head with you divot, then you will see me raise all kinds of shite.
Yes, homeowners on the course have to expect bad shots, some cussing every now and then and some other annoying stuff, but paying a green fee does not entitle a player to act a fool on the course.

We have never acted the fool. It was one errant shot on the whole round. We are very respectful of the course rules. The guy was out of line. I’ve never experienced this level of disrespect from a home owner on a golf course and we didn’t hit his house.

Well that's just common sense. But it does remind me of a funny gag you can pull on your buddies. So here goes, when your buddy inevitably goes to take a piss on the golf course, yell "hey be careful, you know that's a felony!" He will undoubtedly say, pissing in public is a felony? (or something to that effect) Reply with, "no but a grown man touching a little boys dick is."

I had a friend hit a ball in a guy's yard and he came out bitching about it. After we got fed up hearing him complain, my buddy said "we know where you live and we will be there after we finished the round". Dude just walked off mumbling something.

Yeah both parties have to be respectful. If I hit into someone's yard or close I kick it out. And if I were to break a window I would offer to pay. That is my fault. but the homeowner should not have a freak out.
I see an old lady that lives on the course always helping people find their balls that go out of bounds . She's a nice lady and genuinely enjoys watching people play.
