Anyone play it lately? How are the greens?

I will be in Hammond for work and thought I'd get a quick round in after before it gets dark. Seems alittle over priced. Last time I played there the gnats were horrible. Thinking the cold might keep em away.

Haven't played in years, but I just wanted to come say to that stupid par 3 with the mirror.

I kind of want to play there just to see this infamous par 3

Arguably the worst hole in golf. If you go left it rolls off the green and you have to chip up 20' to a sloped green.

It's Oak Knoll.

Keep expectations low. If they happen to exceed them, great. If not, you knew what to expect.

That's always been my approach.

It’s been at least 8 months since I’ve been there but the greens were horrible. No grass - almost all were sand.

Even if they had grass they would still be some of the worst greens around. They are tiny. It’s a shame because the property is nice. It has potential but it needs tons of work.

They did away with the infamous par 3. You tee off from the top of the hill now. I play at Carter regularly but occasionally we play a scramble at Oak Knoll. It is what it is…. I did play there in October and the greens were actually a good bit better. Not good, but better. They at least rolled decent. It is a shame though because if someone could put some money into it and redo the greens it would be pretty solid. The rest of the course isn’t bad. The greens are by far the worst part.

Played there earlier this year..... Like no grass on greens they were terrible. I would imagine with lack of rain they might have gotten marginally better, but either way a round of golf is a round of golf

If you in the area play it and make the best of it

It’s a joke of a layout especially the par 3. Greens never in good shape. It’s a shame.

I would drive 15 minutes to Carter instead.

Yes. You can get on for the same amount at Carter.

You can catch deals there, but they’re really proud of their course I guess

Thought it would make a turnaround when the guys from the Oaks bought it but they don’t seem to have the same level of commitment to Oak Knoll as the Oaks.

The last time I played OK (maybe 6 months ago) it was awful. Little to no reward for hitting a fairway. That mirror hole blows. And it was chalked full of a bunch of younger golfers that were playing grabass with no etiquette.

I’d pay a little more and drive a little further for Carter every day of the week.

Against my better judgement I went and played it. I was going to go to carters but everytime I go there it takes 5 hours to complete a round and didn't have that kinda time.

Fairways looked decent to me, Bunkers were raked and nice, Greens where there was grass was really dark and wet like they've been over watering trying to get them back. They had some patchy spots but to be honest, the areas that had grass, I thought it rolled rather decent. Now mind you I'm used to playing on shite courses.

Had 2 birdies, 5 pars and a bunch of bogeys

Easily the worst semi-private golf course in South Louisiana. Second worst course in the area is Fernwood in McComb, Mississippi.
