A buddy in our group noticed that my grip has been different lately, way to strong.

The result was mostly blocking and sometimes badly hooking my irons.

I normally play a draw. I knew something was wrong but I couldn't figure it out.

I made the adjustment today on the 2nd hole and the rest of the day, I was back to my normal shot pattern.

Finished with a 77 after missing 2 10 ft birdie putts on the back.

Good to have playing partners that know the game and a simple adjustment makes all the difference.

It was fun today.

I try to avoid giving golf advice mid round. And if anyone tries to correct me mid round, I’m probably not going to want to play with that person again.

After the round, sure. We can talk about the round over some drinks and that’s when we can talk swing.

I have 2 people that know my swing. If they see something fricked up, I want their advice. I’m glad you have friends like that.

I shot a 74 today. Made 6 birdies. Second time playing the course. Private variety(I was invited). Good to hear you’re striking it well, baw!

Completely agree, it’s my biggest pet peeve on the course

Unless I’m playing with someone I’ve asked to look at my swing I don’t want any unsolicited comments because I turned one over too much.

6 birdies and still shot 2-4 over? What happened on the other holes man?

I’m with Ell, golf is a hard enough mental game as it is let alone having some weekend golfer tell me what he thinks is wrong with my game. The worst thing you can do to a player partner is make him think more than he already is.

I’m not against what Chappy is saying. I just think there’s a right time for it, and for me it’s not in the middle of a round. I’m actually on his side when it comes to there being just one or two people who I trust with giving me any advice at all no matter when it happens.

I’ve done it before. However, it was in a wolf match where I was the highest handicap at 6. It was eagle or birdie or bust. It was a fun day!

Nice, I make it a habit of watching this video every 6 months or so, typically as the season changes. It's a good reset for my game: LINK

The only suggestion I'll ever make on the course is if someone chronically has bad aim and keeps missing wildly because of it.

We can’t ever play golf together.

I drop my right foot severely to take pressure off my back, and I hit a draw. People think I’m aiming Way right of the right field foul pole, but my club is actually square. My buddies don’t even watch me swing anymore it fricks with their head so bad.

Normally I wouldn't either, but I have played with this guy for years, he is a 2 hcp and he knows the game. He is a good friend and I trust his opinion.

He knows my swing and my game.

If I’m not playing well I don’t mind a little advice from anybody. I’m already in my own head, maybe they will give me a good thought.

But if I’m playing well maybe you should shut the frick up and just let me play golf, Todd. Instead you try to give me swing advice on how to hit the ball further, when I’m already 60 yards past you on every hole, causing me to snap hook it into the fricking water off the next tee and ruining a very real chance at shooting under par for just the second time.

Couple double bogeys. Short course but quite narrow.
