They have not cut the grass in weeks and should have never have opened the course. Last three holes are unplayable and a cow pasture full of cow shite is a better lie. Each tee box is 1 foot thick and you can’t barely tee your ball. Embarrassing and the LSU higher ups should be ashamed. At the same time there are 5 people working the clubhouse to take your money.

It was a goat ranch 20 years ago.

LSU’s golf course is one of the more embarrassing things about the university. No reason for it be as poorly run and maintained as it is.

Its literally the worst golf course I have ever played in my life when I played it a few months ago.

Ive played ALOT of bad courses and it ranks #1 on the dogshit list.

The pro is raking in 200k, there’s not a lot more money to go around

Drove by yesterday and it's hard to distinguish clubhouse from some old abandoned building.

Grass looked terrible

It rained all over BR and others seem to manage to give us a playable course. LSU just phoned it in. How about a weed whacker on the tee box to give you a chance. I’ll take a bush hog on the fairway just to keep the grass lower then 2 feet.

LSU students and state taxpayers shouldn't have to subsidize old retired men's golf. That is the only people who by and large used it.

Otherwise the local golf economy/market just doesn't support it. People just do not want to pay for golf in Louisiana.

The overwhming majority of people in Louisiana can't pay for golf, and the climate is awful for good golf courses too

So good you understand this. So many people act as if we have this amazing climate for golf grass. The weather is all over the place. Heat Wave, Polar Vortex, Snow, Drought, Hurricane, Ice Storm, Flood, etc.

How does an Ag school have a shitty golf course?

I belive our turf/grass program is pretty legit.

Budget. You need money to keep up a good golf course. And in Baton Rouge it won't come from the golfers.

So let’s circle back to the $200k number. That could buy a lot of fertilizer

You got a lot of downvotes, but I'll play along.

The course is horseshite and has been for a while. But even in its prime it never drained well at all and took longer to dry than most courses. So I'll allow it.
